I hit the balance point ONCE yesterday but could never get it again.* lolz.* Crazy feeling.* Felt like I was floating and keeping a steady speed wheelie.* Slowly but surely learning how to do standups.*

I'm still under the "basic" stunts category from the thread that Din posted.* :hs:

Are you powering or clutching? I don't really wanna clutch cause I don't want the extra wear and tear but I'm gonna have to start clutchin' sometime...

Anyhow, powering it up to a balance point area is kinda scary cause it comes up kind of quick... But I've gotten it almost there... Its really scary...

And I can't get my 2nd gear standups to come up... I pre-load, puul, and twist and kind of lean back on the pegs... It comes up a little, but doesn't keep coming up... Any tips?

I'm doing 2nd and 3rd gear clutch ups. I put my left foot on my rear peg and cover the brake with my right. In second, I got about 30-40 mph and blip the clutch and give it gas and it comes right up. It's all in your throttle control. Don't give it too much or you will loop it. Once you figure it out, it's actually pretty easy to get it up. Riding it out just takes practice.

Just take baby steps. Once I actually figured out how to use the clutch to do it, it all came together from there. Just wear gear and be careful and don't get throttle happy.

Ive never actually wheelied with my foot on the rear brake. I actually put my right knee on my seat and keep my left foot on the peg. Different things work for different people... This works for me and makes me be Extra careful cuz I obviously only have my throttle to keep me from looping.

I remember the first time I hit my balance point I had never ridden a wheelie that long and I was just like WHOA :eek3:.. felt like I was up forever. I got a little excited and decided to set it down before I tried something more stupid. lol :keke:

i can't remember where, but i think porshito posted a gerat article about how to wheelie where it said that standups are easier to learn than sit downs. Somebody else said it has to do with each person's preferences. I have to agree with that also, becuase i have tried wheelies all different ways and they all were totally different. But i acually like the most and felt the mot comfortable when i did just like the article said. Right foot covering brake left fooot on back peg and clutchin it up. It feels really good and easy to come up. And i think i have a better idea of where the bike it because im up a little higher than the bike. Its been a while, i prob. practice this weekend at the usual spot.

BP is a good feeling. I'm usually in and out of the BP. One thing you can do to find it or help you get to it is lean back while you wheelie. More wieght in the back cause the balance point to be lower.

I guess I haven't reached BP yet... I don't really understand it... All I know is that its the point in your wheelie where it will stay and ride for a while... I guess..

Someone wanna explain to a noob? :notworthy: :dontknow:

And I learned how to clutch'em up... I can't ride them out very far at all yet, but I learned clutching... :icon_thumright:

not to good at either wheelie or stoppie, my first wheelie ended in a crash and slowed me down a lot but getting back into the feel of things and getting better slowly, still need to find that damned BP. I hate being a newbie. Stoppie's freak the hell out of me. I have been able to do it a couple of times, just need to learn break control. And need to get use to the feel of it. Plus the fact that my rear tire is now showing threads does not help much. Anyone able to hook a bro up on a good set of tires at a good price. :yeahno:

No... Thats right before balance point... Balance point is still beyond that... I get the same feeling... On some wheelies I just ditch them by mashing the clutch letting go of the throttle and throwing my legs down... But make sure not to rack yourself... Thats the part that sucks.

I hate playing mind games. Atleast when someone is doing them to me I have something to fight :boxing: or argue with :argue:, but when you do them to yourself you have no one but yourself to beat up. And I really dont like to fight myself, I usually end up losing. :BangHead:

I don't like staggards... If your not ready for it they can make the bike take off to one side... First time I tried a staggard I changed lanes doing a wheelie... Scary stuff...

I find getting into second gear and going about 30-40 mph and popping the clutch only about 2 to 3 grand over... Make sure your up on the tank though... Not too much so you don't rack... But if your forward on the seat it won't come up as fast... You can start getting a feel for it... And as it comes more and more... You can scoot back a lil further, pop the clutch at a little higher over rpm... Maybe do it at higher speeds...

I'm no wheely expert... I'm still learning myself... BUT this is how I learned... Took me about 2 or 3 weeks of alot of practice to get to where I'm comfy enough to mash the gas while sitting way back and try and ride them out kinda far and try and reach balance point...

As far as stand ups go... I'm still powering them up so I can get a feel for them... Soon as I get comfy with they way they feel when they rise I'll clutch those as well...

i love the rain man its really good practice. start launches in the rain stoppies wheelies i all practice in the rain but to a safe point. if you can swing it in the rain meaning launch stop turn stunt whatever your into doing then you can really let loose on the dry and if anything gets hair well you know what to do cuz the rain is like practice for stuff that gets out of hand like launches wheelies stoppies turn etc. now each bike is defferent in everything is a factor, bike length weight riders hieght weight postion like my busa and me my balence point at like 60mph is 11.5-11.7 but i like to lean forward and get it higher i also love to bounce it in and out of bp just cuz its fun to me to sway the bike up and down. when im on my friends 04 zx6rr the bp is like ll and for him its like 10.7-10.8 but hes shorter for me, so really you just have to find your own bp, and youll know when you get there it feals like waightlessness or being on a roller coaster when it drops. but please where some gear man and dont squid it up, its never fun seeing people get hurt.
