I washed the removable cheek pads but what about the rest? I want the smell out. I bought the helmet used and I plan on wearing a bandana or somethin to help keep the sweat and smell out but for now I just wanna wash it so it smells a lil better, lol
PS...I already sprayed it w/ febreze

lol, i don't think that will work very well
I've read somewhere to wipe with a moist towel, with lil soap, then wipe again with just a moist towel. Mine don't stink yet, so I haven't cleaned it.

Honda Cleaner, works like a charm. :icon_thumright:
If you have alot of bugs from a ride, lay a hot towel on it for a while to soften them up.

I imagine soaking it to long will destroy the structure of the foam shell inside. Which is what protects your brain. Might be a bad idea... just use some lysol and vacuum it or something.

i just use a hooters hand wipe (or any handwipe for that matter) and wipe the helmet off then dry it...i haven't cleaned the padding yet but i have taken it out to try to run some headphones through it

lol, not talking about the outside of the helmet. I just meant the inside (padding). Anyway, I did what Nels said w/ the towel and used some laudry detergent and it's alot better now. Put the helmet in front of this little fan I have and it dried in 30 min.

:icon_thumright: Woolite pads do wonders as well.

use SHOUT. I used that to clean the inside and you wouldn't believe the amt of grime that came out that is not at all visible. I spayed some in my helmet and used some water and a rag to get it out and I repeated the process till nothin else came out. Worked great! Then I finished it off w/febreeze :icon_thumright:

Just do what I did, get some laundry detergent, get a wet rag, put the soap on it and clean whatever you can inside the helmet that doesn't come off. Any of your pads that do come off just pull out and wash those. Put them helmet in front of a fan and let it dry. I did that when I first got it and it still smells fine.
