pardon me if its a noob question, but do u guyz take an insurance cover for track days? Is it something special, taken just for track day, or is it normal collision component of the normal insurance cover. how much does it cost if its something specially taken...

I am not sure if I am asking the right questions, my basic point is that I want myself covered if I wreck it. so I want to know what options do I have.thanks.

Well... to my knowledge most companies will not cover you if you are racing your bike around a track.... So, maybe you should just keep that on the down low and if needed say you got ran off the road and the person did not stop. At least that is what I have heard and I certainly would never reccomend persueing insurance fraud. :icon_thumright:

yeah on the track you fill out a waiver before you ride that says no one is responsible if you go down or cause someone else to go down. So in other words if someone pissed you off and you wanted to make them wreck you could cause them to crash and they only thing they can basically do is come kick your ass if they can. Other than that NO, you dont have to have insurance. lol I havent had insurance on my bike since like '03! I guess the only other way would be for you to have full coverage and lie and say you got hit or somethin. ;) Hope this helps!

Some insurance companies will only cover you if it's considered a "school."

True, but I think if anyone claims that on their insurance they are screwing us by inflating insurance costs... they messed up and it's their fault. I've crashed 2 times at the track and both times I was told to go that route, by cheating my insurance. I wasn't going to do that. I messed up, I paid out of pocked to fix my bike.

My insurance said they would cover me at the track as long as I was not racing...as in a real race, CMRA, etc. The lady told me that she was glad because it is much safer than "all those car driving crazies" I said ya know kidding. That's my experience with it

man, that sounds good, but you know the majority of people wouldn't do that so we're screwed regardless. I wrecked twice and both times I paid for it
