It's a new CMRA class haven't you heard? Formula 1 mono.
Actually I have some forks on it now. Marcus McBain set me up w/ new Traxxion Springs and a re-build. They are like buttah now!
Last night I mounted my Penske rear on it.
Tonight I get the Harris Titanium high-mounts on!!!
Then bodywork and I'm ready... :headbang:

Now he's even more my hero...running the hole track on nothing bet the front wheel, INCREDIBLE.* He took the Penske off the other bike and put it on the "new" one.* The street bike now has a stock shock :puke:

I moved my Penske double-clicker to the track bike and right now my street ride is waiting on an Elka Triple-clicker...* I should have it in a couple of weeks.

looks good but, if those are race plastics why are the mirror mount holes there?

...what's stock gearing for an RC? what brand chain and sprockets did u get?
Stock gearing for the RC is 16/40 (really tall).* The front sprocket is a JT sprocket, the rear is by a relatively new company called PBI.* When going to a 520 conversion, AFAM is one of the only companies that stock a 41 rear for the RC.* And they want like $70 for a rear sprocket.* So, I went w/ the $40 PBI.
...if those are race plastics why are the mirror mount holes there?
Actually, they are for the fairing stay.* But, I'm not gonna use one.* So I'll be putting some plactic covers over them or something.* :icon_thumright:

no fairing stay???* then how does your speedo and front stuff hang on to the bike if you're not using a fairing stay?* Maybe im gettin confused but last time I check I thought the fairing stay was that bracket that held the front en together...* *:dontknow:
But daaaamn so you went up like 4 teeth in the rear!! What's with everyone gearing up the 1000s! Isn't it enough torque already? Ive been riding with mine geared down in the rear. If it was a 600 or even a 750 I would understand... but you have a monster of a bike! :eek3:

I went down 1 in front and up 1 in the rear on the sprockets.* The factory gearing on an RC is way too tall.
Also as far as the fairing stay goes, the RC fairing stay is old-school style.* It connects where the two bolts that hold the front of the tank are and just goes up to hold where the mirrors go.* So, if you have no mirrors, it doesn't do much.* Also, the gauge cluster attaches to the top of the RAM air intake snorkel. You can see that in this pic:

ic now.. its all clear ;) .
and as for the gears... yeah. going down one in the front is like going up 3 in the rear. It has a VERY similar equivalence... Thats y I said its like going up 4 in the rear. cool

Well.* It could have been better.* After the first session it rained alittle and the track stayed wet till after noon.* Me, on my just finished bike, realized that the previous owner fried the clutch.* I hit the first straight and hit the throttle and my bike revved up and I accelerated about like I can on my bicycle.* :BangHead::BangHead::BangHead::BangHead::BangHead: :BangHead:*
Actually, this was a blessing in disguise.* A group of us are heading to VIR at the end of the month and I'm glad I found out the problem before I was trackside in Virginia.* :icon_thumright:
But, the track dried up and Brad got in some good sessions.* I got to be his pit bitch.* :crying:
Actually, one of the best things to happen was we got there the night before and pitted next to Marcus McBain (Racing Performance Services) and got to talk suspension w/ him for a couple of hours.* Then he pushed on Brad's 600RR and told Brad that his front forks weren't working right.* After Brad told him that he had Race Tech valves and springs installed by someone else* :eh:* He told Brad that for $150 he would re-do his forks so that they worked right and he would give back his Race Tech gold valves to him so he could get back about $80 by selling them on eBay.* *:eek3:* That's pretty fuggin cool if you ask me.* So at 10:45 pm, Brad and I dropped his forks out and gave them to Marcus and in less than 5 minutes (not exagerating at all) he had Brad's forks completely taken apart into every conceivable piece.* :eek3:* Then he discovered that the Race Tech valves were installed wrong.* So Marcus fixed him up and his forks are workin sweet.* Then he checked on Brad several times throughout the day to see how it was performing.* :icon_thumright:

sorry to hear that Jason.
I got my forks rebuild my Marcus, and just like you said, he had them completely taken apart in less than 5min, he's one fast mofo. He also said that for ohlins forks he spent like $3k on tools :eek3:

sorry to hear that Jason...
Brad's the one whose ass may hurt from that first fork job! :keke:
Unless you're talking abut my clutch issues w/ my RC. In that case, I chose to look at it as a blessing that it happened in time before I go to VIR... :headbang:

well good to hear yall came back in one piece. I was thinkin about weather cuz it poured over here. :eek3:
As for Marcus he too rebuilt my forks and they work greeeat :icon_thumright:. I got some Traxxion Dynamic internals. He's a pretty cool guy once you get to know him and he will tell u all there is about suspension. While at track he tunes up my suspension for free if I just tell him whats wrong and what im feelin on the bike. So I guess gettin them built by him just gives me that "warranty" that if somethin is happening I can come to him at the track and he can correct it.
