I just did my first track day at TWS on 7/29. All I can say why didn't anyone tell me how much fun it is before now. :laughing6: I used the think that riding in the Hill Country was fun, but it doesn't come close to blasting down the front straght approaching the first corner 1 at over 130 mph.

I just need to get over the fear of wrecking my bike. Seeing 6 wrecked bikes in the garage that I was pitted in didn't help either. I can't afford to put the bike down. I still owe $8500 on it. I may need to find a dedicated track bike to truely enjoy track days.

That was my first day as well. It was awful hot out there. Still I had a lot of fun and It showed just what the bike was capable of. Cant wait to do it again.

Welcome to your new addiction! :icon_thumright:

Hopefully you will make it out to some more this year when I get a chance to be there so we can have more MotoHouston guys pitting up together. Also, a track bike is a great idea but also pacing yourself and taking the proper steps to learning the track and your bike will keep your track to dirt time alot better.

i think it would be smart for you to go to ridesmart,, you'd learn a helluva lot there,, it would greatly benefit your riding abilities.

yeah...I went on may 30th, but those fools had me stuck in a class after each session. I'm seriously thinking of going on Sept. 5th (I might skip some classes though :keke:)

Ill check the dates.. It was WAY too hot for me out there this time. I could only hack 3 sessions so Ill be looking for something in the cooler months. You know when you cant actually cook lunch on a clean peice of stainless steel at noon.

j14
08-02-2005, 10:26 PM
true...I missed a couple of sessions because I was getting my suspension worked on and one because of Arturo's crash. In all, I think I did 4 sessions in that Africa hot weather!

Get used to it... cuz int he next coming months when the lovebugs start comin out you'll barely be able to do about 2 or 3 laps and then you have to come in and clean your visor cuz u cant see shit! :eek3: Im dead serious about this, ask others.

j14
08-03-2005, 06:37 PM
man, i'm going to have to invent a visor wiper and ride like that, even in the rain

Txlonestar
08-04-2005, 05:47 PM
Dont they make those strips you can put on the front of your visors like the nascar racers use?
