I'm not going to bad mouth this bike, it is my first street bike to own.
I've put about 8 thousand miles on it for a total of around 28k, I say around there because I ride it daily to work.
In all honesty I'm just selling it to buy a more powerfull bike. I bought this one to learn on and I am SOOOOO glad I did, I had been riding off-road my whole life and thought the transition to street would be easy... and it wasn't bad but I give all the credit to the fact that I took those important transitional steps, this bike has a lot of power if you are unfamiliar with sport bikes.
It rides really comfortably, I've gone for 2-3 hours at a time and not felt bad afterwards and I'm pretty tall too. It starts up every time but when the motor is cold you do have to use the choke about 1/2 way till it warms up.
I've got new tires on it and new rear brakes, the paint isn't the plain banana yellow it's a little bit brighter shade with some green flake in it (I can't explain why, the previous owner did it) but it does look neat and stands out.
The motor pulls smooth through all the gears and the motor has a good pull, there are a lot of miles left on this baby. It redlines around 12k rpms and the motor really picks up after 7k. Right at 7k there is a very slight vibration which I told is normal for these things and afterwards it's like a whole new machine. Which means below 7k rpms it's a comfortable but peppy bike but after 7k it really wakes up.
It has little over a 3 gallon tank and I normaly go 130 miles to a tank.
Now for the ugly:
When I first got the bike I rode it to work and an automatic gate swung out and hit it on the right side, so there is a small small crack in the right fairing plastic, it's pretty inconspicuous actually and you probably wouldn't notice unless I showed you.
The fork seals are beginning to wear and could use replacing.
The chain isn't gone yet but within the next 3 thousand miles or so it could use replacing.
I'm in the process of putting a new clutch cable on it right now as we speak.
I'm asking $1200 for it as is (except for new clutch cable)
Or I'll fix the fork seals and chain/sprocket for $1500.
If anyone is interested the best way to reach my is at my house 281 328-8106 ask for david and if I'm not there just leave a number with my wife. I rarely get to use a computer (only once or twice a week). I will answer any and all questions here though, just have to bear with me if I respond slow.
