Need help.

Any one know a good way to flush the lower end on a dirt bike. Has some stuff that might be in there. I was thinking I should take the clutch cover off and I would be able to get whet ever might be in there out, ie metal shaving.

taking the clutch cover off will let you clean out the clutch case.. but to get to the inside and do it good. you need to pull the top end and you can get the best access from there. depends on how serious you want to clean it. you can always just pull the plug and run oil through it also.

Top end is off already and we flushed it with used oil first then cheap new oil. Do you think gasoline would hurt anything? I want to get it realy clean cause there was a lot of crud in there. We are going to let it sit for a while. The lower end seized up from sitting over time but I got it to crank and spin freely.

No gas... dilute clean oil (1/1) with kerosene or undied diesel fuel & only work the crank around by hand, dont leave it in there to long unless you remove the clutch friction plates, drain & refill with clean oil, run to operating temp or a little longer & change oil again.

I dont know why I didnt think deisel! I was planing to run for a litle to warm the oil then flush again, but you just made me more sure now. Thanks.

shit if the motor is that apart.... i'd spray an assload of brake cleaner in there and shake it up and do that several time.. then flush with oil a couple times. and fill her up.. thats just me though.

You don't want to use the brake cleaner, it'll attack the seals, kerosene won't. Make sure you pull the clutches first though.
