I think you need to try it on all helments fit diff i have a Hayabusa Helmet by Shoei and a Scorpion EXO I like them both I wear the Scorpin now cause the Shoei is old school and the liner dont come out :angry7:

try the Scorpion they have the 400, 700 and the new 1000 EXO series the 400's run $150 I think that it is a good helment that wornt break you.

dunno about that model shark. I have a RSR2 and really like it. Too bad I crushed some of the impact liner when i had my little incident. Will be purchasing an arai rx7 soon to see what all the hype is about. You can pick up a RSX model from ebay for the same price as the s650 but no graphics.
On the upside you do get: 1) shell made from carbon fibre/kevlar fibre instead of thermoplastic resin. 2) 3mm shield vs 2.2mm. 3) shell comes in 2 different sizes so if you wear a small you don't look like you have a darth vader lid on. 4) D-ring chin straps instead of quick release buckle. 5)coolmax lined padding.

i have a shark rsr2 so far i like the helmet alot. Light and breathes very well, the face shields are almost bullet proof since they are so thick. mine looks like this one

how much do you want to spend? For around $350 you can get an Arai quantum2 and Soumy spec R1. Both are excellent.

I've had two Scorpions and crashed with one. While considering replacement helmets, I have also looked at the Sharks. Tried one on at Cycle Gear the other day and compared it to a Shoei.

The Shark sits a bit higher in the back, that was the first thing I noticed. If you have issues with your helmet hitting your collar in the back, the Shark is for you. It sits lower in the front, the chin area is huge. The shield is very thick and it is tricky to learn how to put it up and down (no tab like others).

The inside feels like velvet and the helmet feels like a big pillow on your head.

Overall, it fits really well but I just couldn't get comfy with it.

I guess just go to stores and try on the helmet and then buy the want that makes you say "Oh yeah! That's it!"

RSR2 ...? Medium.

They said Sharks come out smaller but the medium Shark fit me just as well as the Medium Shoei X11 and RF1000. The Scorpion was also a medium. The Shark and Shoei did feel a bit more snug than the Scorpion which actually felt better. The Scorpion was always a tad too big but small was too small. :banghead:

Go with the one that fits the best. Try on the helmet and compare with others.

You'll enjoy it more in the longrun and in a crash, it doesn't matter how it went with your bike. :D
