Racetecs are nice race tires, but they are way more expensive than other race tires.

Bridgestone BT002s FTW!

I was going to get either the Dragon Supercorsa Pros for 339.00
or
The BT002 PRO for 310.00
Then I found a smoking deal on the Metzeler Racetec for 249.00

The racetecs are o.k., but I prefer the BT002.
I'd also check the date code on the Racetecs, especially for that price.

The vendor said they were made in the end of 06. Is there a way to verify that?

Sure there is. Theres a date code, 4 digits, on the sidewall of the tire. The first two are the week it was made, the last two are the year.
I.E: 3506 would be made the 35th week of 2006, or 1204 would be the 12th week of 2004.
Hope this helps!

As long as they were stored properly, then tires made in 06 would be just fine...

PS- Why not the BT002 race/street tire? You can find those for $250 a set.

IMO, the BT002 R/S, the Mich 2 CTs, and the Pirelli Corsa 3s are plenty of tire for the track unless you are running podium times at the track...
