Once again it is with humble pride I report that at the TMGP (http://tmgps.8k.com) 4 Hour Mini-Endurance Race at the NTK Track (http://www.ntkarters.com/images/track_aerial-2.jpg) in Denton, TX (http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&q=denton&ie=UTF8&ll=33.306492,-97.190074&spn=0.002017,0.003616&t=h&z=18&om=1) - Que Paso Racing took 3rd place in our division.
Team thanks to Nat & Carol - and of course Carlos & Gianni who rode great as always. Special props to Gianni for staying out longer than he should have in the last stint of the day.
At 10:45am we had two things - our race bike FRAME and our stock backup, backup, backup dirtbike…
At 1:50pm (10 minutes before the race) we had another two things - a complete dialed in race bike – carb’d, fueled up and pressures set… annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd a BIG pile of parts from a stock ’03 xr100. :eek3: :keke:
At 2:00pm the green flag dropped and our four hour race began. Can you say sweltering? I think we spent a total of six hours in 106ish degrees heat (heat index included). Thank goodness the morning had been a balmy 99, right?
3 1/2 hours into the endurance race we were only down 4 laps... Personally I miss our 10 more cc’s from our previous (blown) four motors - but hey we were just glad to be out there... :eek3: :icon_bigg In the end Gianni took the checkered for us & we grabbed a podium finish of third... :notworthy
We happily picked up our trophies – got some mad props from the crowd for the pre-race assembly work, packed up and headed back South. Congrats to all the folks/teams who made long haul. :hello:
Que Paso Racing would like to thank South Central Race Center (http://www.scracecenter.com) for their team support this season. The Bridgestones held great in unbelievable heat. We had zero slides/runoffs/getoffs – the stones were rockin! If you guys EVER need ANY race tires - John is the man to talk to - period! :icon_thum
We would also like to thank our team sponsor Motorcycles Unlimited (http://www.motorcycles-unlimited.com) for their continued support this season. Better than dealer service at better than dealer prices – what more could you ask for people?!? Support your local shops!!!
