Yay. It's that time of the year where you get free things from your parents. :keke:

First off I plan on getting the Alpinestar stunt shoes, because I need some foot protection.

Secondly, and the reason I made this thread was because I plan on getting a new helmet.

I've been trying to lean towards Shoei, Arai, or Suomy but I found this Icon helmet that I really like.

Do you guys think this would be a good helmet? I've heard that Icons are heavy and what not but other than that does anyone own it?

Sweet. I should probably go try it on before I buy it though.

Get one of the big 3 if someone else is buying it for you. My shoei RF-1000 is like a night and day diff vs my KBC VR1, which was rated as a good helmet. It's soooo much lighter, ventilation is better, and wind buffeting is non-existant.

Which one has better ventilation, weight etc?
I have a KBC VR2 and it feel great to me. It fits well, the lining is nice, it's lighter and compared to my Shoei it seems to have less buffeting and drag.
Of course this is gonna vary from rider and bike. It's all opinion, but the main thing is comfort, then style. All the rest is opinion since they ALL have to meet the same specs.

Anyone heard of OGK helmets? Supposedly popular in Japan.

...and I seriously can't find a good picture of the Aeroblade 2. :angry7:
