Thought I'd share a few pics of an SV650 engine we're currently building for a WERA racer.

It's a 2nd Generation engine. In the past engines that we've built like this run 90 - 92 rwhp and are very reliable when run on race fuel.

We as well as other racers have won multiple sprint and endurance races / championships with these engines.

The pistons are 12.5 to 1 JE 2mm over pistons, for a displacement of 678cc

The bottom end of an SV is the heart of the motor, skip any steps, skimp on components, and you'll pay for it with reliability issues.

Carillo "H" beam rods.

The crank is at my machine shop right now being "massaged", it'll return lighter and stronger. I'll get some pics up in a few days.

Cylinder head;

We've done a light decking to make certain it's absolutely flat, peromed a 5 angle valve job, and some port reshaping and cleaning up.
We don't mirror polish ports as we've found that a slightly rougher finish better atomizes the fuel.

Anyhow, I thought I'd share. I'll be sure to post pics of the final project as well as dyno charts.:icon_thum

ohh, and I've been meaning to ask you, do you know of anyway to reliably get enough power out of my 50cc ruckus to make it do about 55-60mph?

We do all of the head work in-house.

I use a dedicated machine shop for the cylinder boring / deck work, and I use a specific crank vendor for the crank work, and have them do it to my specs.

Looks good Partick! :icon_thum I've gone through similar stuff on cars, my GF's Miata has forged internals, waitin for a little boost at the moment. Carillo H-Beams are the way to go, very strong!

Looks good! Nothing is sexier then a clean motor with new go fast parts. That SV should be a fun one to ride!

Get a rope and tie it to my XR70. Total cost: $1.75 :keke:

Nice work on the SV, Patrick.
