I was wondering if there are any downsides to haveing a dualed exhaust on a bike like the 05 cbr600rr. I have heard some sound clips and have liked the way some have looked (yes some are very ugly) and was wondering if moding it to a dual would have any negative hp reactions. Also any recomendations? If I stick to the single exhaust I have heard the two brothers carbon on a 05 and loved it, and will most likely stick with that.

hope ur not planning on having any passengers on that back seat with dual pipes......they are already probably burning their asses off with the single pipe on the RR :pottytrain2:

you really should use the carbon as it disapates the heat quick and it prolly wont get quite as hot as other materials,, still gonna be hot though

I'll look into the D&D. Didn't think about the burned rumps...I'm new and doubt anyone should be on the back for a couple of months.

Knives, i have the M4 carbon and the seat doesnt get hot at all and if u want to meet up for a ride u can hear how it sounds. In any case definately go with carbon.* What kind of dual exhaust are u looking into?* *ART makes one for the 600rr which looks pretty nice.* Sounds decent.* I dont like th D&D sound, its too loud and seems distorted.* But that stuff is all personal preferance.* If you want this to be a somewhat performance mod, there are better things u can do.* PM or call me and ill give u the info.

Don't worry aobut some bum being burn off by the exhaust.. I've got a RR and have a passenger all the time, and never have any complaints. I believe that's why they put heat shields around those things.

yeah if putting aftermarket exhaust under the rear seat defintely PUT SOME HEAT SHIELDING! CBRs alredy come fitted this way but say you wanted to do this to a gsxr. Get some heat absorbing shielding! :icon_thumright:

It shouldn't get too hot after rides... Only 1 way to find out tho.. after i get done with a long ride you can come by and lick my exhaust to see how warm it is.. Heard it taste like warm chicken soup.

The mod is going to be done mostly for looks and sounds. I'm guessing that sticking with the single would do more for performance. So far the look of the d&d is what I'm going for. Thanks for the replies.
