LOL.. Admittedly, I think you would make me look silly. Don't you have quite an HP and torque advantage?

CarbonJames

not right now i dont,, but those vrods are pretty damn fast, ithink it would give alot of the 600's a tough time,, depending on the riders of course, but they are fast for what they are..

you have exhaust on it or any motor work done..

I've heard the same about running against 600's but, you're right... it also takes a rider. Mostly, V-rodders stay away from sport bikes for obvious reasons. Rods are fast but just fast for sport-cruisers.

I have SE pipes, a K&N filter and an ECM remap. That's about it as far as performance mods.

There are some V-Rodders which are running turbos and can put out some good numbers.

Whats the V-rod rated at? *I know Yamahas Road Warrior, The Rune, and the Trump Rocket three are all exceptionally quick, and they are in the same catagory as the vtx. *

At the crank: 115HP and 78ft-lb. ~10% less at the RW, obviously. I'm not a racer (too big) but I hear about all of the above getting their asses handed to them by 'Rodders all the time. Of course, I cannot substantiate any of it. Personally, however, I talked to a manager at a Triumph dealer who said he's been frustrated multiple times because he's not been able to beat a V-Rod on a Rocket III (which is as very nice bike, btw...)

Impressive, I would think that the Rocket three would own it, but I gues Harley prevails in this situation. I saw both motorcycles the other day, just on the road, and they both look pretty good to me. I could of swore that the Rocket three makes a good deal more hp's than that, but I gues it is heavy as a rock.

That's just it. It's got power, it's just very heavy. I would love to own own since they look so cool.

I took the kids across the street for a ride on our street yesterday. one is 2 years old and one is 5.
they both walked in my garage the other day and one went to the chopper and the other to my daughters chopper and they hopped on and started making motor noises. Instantly, I think its something that boys are born with. I had to get all three bikes out and give ride for each on each. They liked the full sized harley the best :icon_thumright:
gotta get em started young on the Harley so they wont get the crotch rocket itch when older :laughing6:

welcome TxVrod!
I have never seen a motorcycle more beautiful..yeah beautiful..than a V-Rod!
if I have any dreams, this is the first of them all.
But right now, I am just getting a crotch rocket to address my need for speed!
but someday.......

Thanks. Yes, it does. That's stock, though. I'm looking at adding a box to the ECM which will allow me a couple of K more RPM's. I'm still on the fence, though. I don't really need more speed.

I did the ignition swap on mine to get the better timing curve and higher rpm rev limit. Brings mine from a 6,200rpm redline to 7 k. I very rarely wind it up there because real world, I dont think Im making enough power up there to worry with and also my valve train is stock and I dont really wanna over rev and toss some guides, springs etc etc.
basically, if you are not racing your bike, I seriously would save my money. Mine was a bit less than 200. and I think it was a waste real world.
