Okay, since I have over a month to get the xr100 track ready and I have the tires taken care of, what are other things I will need?

Will I need a transponder? If yes, suggestions?

What about safety wiring? So far, we thought about wiring the nuts on the wheels and the oil cap and the drain screw.

Anything else? :confused1

You can rent the transponder when they are using them at the races.

radiator cap if available, axles, oil drain bolt, oil filler cap, i would put some wire on the grips just in case.

Will I need to prep something on the bike to mount it? How much are they to rent?

Not really... get a mounting bracket at the race for $5, drill some holes and zip tie it on. The rental is about $30.

Lots of funny people here! I'm surprised they didn't ask you to safety wire your helmet to your back protector!! :icon_bigg

Here are the rules, straight from the TMGP rule book:

All race bikes must pass tech inspection. The tech inspector may at any time revoke approval of the bike
if it no longer meets requirements. The tech inspector may at his discretion allow a "temporary fix" for a
non safety related problem for a particular race weekend.
1. Axle nuts, oil filler and drain, water filler and drain, and torque arms, must be either safety wired or
cotter pinned. "R" type clips may be used in certain applications, but must be wired closed.
2. Oil, water and gas lines must be made secure.
3. Water cooled machines must not use antifreeze as a coolant.
4. The bike must have an operating kill switch.
5. The throttle must be self closing.
6. Front and rear brakes must be in good working condition.
7. Any glass or plastic lenses must be taped.
8. Tires must be in good condition.
9. Removable exhaust baffles must be safety wired.
