Okay i gotta ask..

Why do you guys prefer XR50/CRF50s over XR100/XRF100s?

Basically i've decided that track riding and racing is getting too expensive and i'd like to redirect the booze toward stunting..

I wanna start small with a mini, but at the same time i'd like to be able to lean it on the track and race with it in the TMGPs.

I currently have a NSR50 - which is hella different then the 50s you guys have.

So i know i gotta buy a 50 or 100. But which one and why?

Also can someone explain me the difference between the whole XR & CRF?

Also what about a KX65?

Go with a CRF-50 if you can...:icon_thum

I believe they were CRF's up until 03 and are now classified as Xr's.....but dont quote me on that.....

Either way....the only difference I was told is the plastics (between the Xr's and CRF's)

But ridin red all the way, AND you can still upgrade em for TMGP mini races. Just talk to Josh302 or ask him about his fiddy.....:eek3:

Man, that thing is a beast....:notworthy

XR's were before the CRF's, and the differences are cosmetic. . .
a KX65 would suck to stunt. . .
why not a KLX110? It has twice the grunt of a fiddy, and waaaaaaay better for TMGP racing(IMO). I just snagged a 1996 Z50 and it's a fun little bike(and more durable than the xr/crf's) but it's just so damn small. I guess it comes down to personal preference, but you will find more parts for the fiddies than the 100. lastly, an XR100 is fully manual(clutch) while a fiddy is what i call manual-matic(no clutch). Get the one that fits you the best and rock it, they're all hondas, they don't break!!

it was xr's from 2000-2003
then crf's from 2004+

the only difference is the plastics and graphics. everything else is basically the same.

but back to your question...once you hop on a xr or crf50...your instantly hooked. you will understand once you hop on one. its like a bond you form with a dirtbike made for a 5 year old. and something about it just puts a smile on your face when you hop on it. like the sunshine off of a rainy day, with meadows full of colorful rainbows.

was that gay enough for you? :keke:

seriously though, go with a honda 50. there so much fun, so much to do with them, and so easy to haul around.

mainly people go honda because of the wide selection of aftermarket goodies that are soooo easy to find online for deals

that and they can sit in the impound for like 6 months and start on 2nd kick

it became obvious to me when i started looking for parts for the crf100.....they make a crapload more parts for the xr/crf50. plus the fiddy's are a bit smaller, easier to manuever (sp?)......lean back, throttle, and it's up on one wheel.....the crf100 i gotta pull the bars up and lean back or clutch it up and lean back to get it up on one.

the fiddy's teach you more about balancing your weight than the 100 would. that's how i see it. plus it's a honda...it'll take a beating and come back for more.

I've seen 50's at Denton put a whooping on 100's! Those little 10" wheels aren't very stable at high speeds though

yep,
the 50 can be bored and stroked to over 100cc and definetly put a whooping on the bigger framed xr100's etc. with the right rider in TMGP.
I'd just get a stock 50 for stunting since you already have the NSR? It would make a better pit bike as well should you decide stuntin' aint your thing.

maybe Max, but not V.R.

Shake them haters off and buy a 2000-2004 honda 50, the newer ones have jacked up carbs, ask mala about that, she is the only one i know of with a 05+ phiddy. and you cant adjust air to fuel, so if you wanted to put on a K/N or a pipe, it is more difficult to make it run right.

I got a big bar kit sitn in the garage ready for action, I you find a stock fiddy youll need big bar kit, street tires, and I-shock. stiff fork springs and bushings optional but recomemded($300 ruff total). might be cheaper to find one stunt ready.

now all the toys i have are "BIKE RELATED"....all i spend money on is bike related....i don't even wanna buy new clothes/shoes....i think to myself, "i need this and that for the bike, i'll buy some new clothes/shoes later".

and when the boss lady wants to go to vegas or wherever....i'm like, damn...gotta cut down on trackdays now, or i can't buy new tires, you catch my drift.

well, at least i'm happy and enjoying life. don't know if the money spent is worth it sometimes. damn. i really need to start saving, and stop spending. this shit is taking over my life. (that's what my fiance tells me also)

Rossi made honda what it is today. They could'nt have made it this far without him. You need a Rossi to win championships for you (Honda) in last years of 500cc 2 stroke aswell as very first year of the great 990s. You don't need no Hayden that takes 3 years just to win.

N what did Honda do to him? Betrayal..cheat..lie? Fcuk they did'nt even gim the 500cc Honda that he won on for them - even after publicly promising him..:eh:

True. I'll still be doing big bike stuff and all but at the moment i think i'd rather redirect my expenses to a decent car and more towards minis & tmgp rather then CMRA racing. Just looking at some of the sprint fees & endurance fees make me sick. :eh:

I'll do it as a team - but not as an individual.

Hey Guys,

I'm leaning on listening to the majority's advice (Clayton,Tim,Tony,Tom,Josh etc etc..) of getting an XR50/CRF50.

But i have a question - are the parts interchangable? Its my understanding that the 05s have issues? (How often and what?).

Thanks for your help "mini" guys!

all the same 2000-2007 newer the better. only dif between crf and xr is the back fender(still interchanges).

in the old days xr used to mean 4 stroke and cr meant two stroke. Now they make crf, f meaning four stroke, and cr(two stroke). they will stop importing the cr(two stroke) soon, if not already
