My state is nothing without my nation. My nation of course. What is the point? It seems pretty obvious that everyone will say nation.
HAHAHAHA!! He needs to open a history book and use some critical thinking.
Maybe it's because my state was a nation. I've alays felt a clearer loyalty to Texas. I love the USA and would give the last full measure of devotion for her. But that line ends at the needs/call of Texas.
He could learn a thing or two from this guy.
Yeah, I'm not going to argue with the Texans here, but for the rest of us, I know officially we have a Federal government which by definition is based upon the agreement of the States, but let's wake up and smell the coffee. Since the Civil War the Federal Government has become one that calls most of the shots. And besides, the way the constitution is set-up, it is the final arbiter btwn. the states. Money talks, and most of the tax revenue (or debt) runs through D.C. Should more local authority be given to states and individuals in dealing with issues such as eduation and moral issues? Ah, yes, but even then the Federal Govt. has to grant that access, or to have never involved itself in the first place. Right or wrong, that's the way it is. Sometimes it works to our benefit, sometimes it doesn't. I'm a southern Republican and it would benefit the both parties if we were to eliminate the electoral college and have the executive of the Federal Government voted on by a nationwide popular vote. Amendments to the Constitution should be voted on by national general election popular vote and not by individual state elections.
Okay so this shit goes on and on... But this guy says he is a Southern Republican which I don't see. I guess what I understood it to be is wrong. Can someone explain this to me.:eh:

Pack - yeah, well that was purely shot from the hip Clapton II and purely speculation. Of course, far beyond speculation is how voters mysteriously come out of the graveyards, and inconsitencies of elections of Chicago, South Dakota and other areas where the Tammany Hall machines of the glorious Democratic party spin their "magic." What kills me is the junk being thrown at us even to this day after all the votes have been counted over and over verifying that Bush won in Florida (2000) and Ohio (2004). You would think that we stole their playbook the way they react after close elections that go our way. And what happened when the Sioux reservation had more votes than Indians? We shrugged it off. We've been shrugging off the Dems corruption for decades now, but it'll all come out in the wash. What's really hard to take is the tendency to rehash the lies after intervals of time, because they know a certain segment of the population has pretty much fogotten things. "The Supreme Court decided the presidency!" You know, that sounds nice, except for the fact that they ACTUALLY went back and counted and recounted until the Dem observers grew blue in the face. Get over it. Clinton won two elections with less popular votes than Bush in BOTH elections. 38% in the first election. You see, the fact is, the Democrats can't win Democratic elections. Can you say Kennedy-Nixon? Boy that election victory was clear as a bell, and even in my home state there was something funky going on. I could go on forever.
We assume that registering to vote is a franchise that a citizen would take pride in themselves and do it on their own initutive. The Dems actually should be praised for their efforts in registering voters. I have no problem with that, although sometimes they get people to vote that have no idea what they're voting for. It basically boils down to drumming up votes, but there's nothing wrong with it. But to say that Repblicans are scared of the populace because they don't do the "voter drive" thing is silly.
Two-way, three way? It's all the same to me and the Green party as well.
Okay I can't read anymore, but I know RICK HIC would enjoy this!!

Person 3: So....hypothetically....if Texas chose to leave the union, by force, you would join them and raise arms against the American Army?
Person 4: First of all, Texas does not have to withdraw by force. We are the only State that can actually withdraw from the Union legally. We have always retained the right to do so. If, for example, the communist Hillary gets elected into office and tries to take away our freedom, we could withdraw, and there would be NOTHING the US could do about it. We could give the US an ultimatum to get thier troops out of our State if we wanted to. Or we could agree to a treaty as well. Either way Texas could become a sovereign nation at any time we saw fit.
Person 5: No, we would bomb you and take you oil if republicans are in power.

when texas won it's independance from mexico we were a country i think for 11 years, then we voted to loin u.s. and they took what was tx and split it up and added it into 5 states. but i too remember reading as part of our joining the "union" we could leave it too. i dont think that would ever happen, and if it did, would we get the land back they used to make the 5 states?

I haven't been to San Antonio or Tyler so I dunno about that. Anyway, people in Indiana aren't very friendly IMO. I never really noticed it until I moved to Wisconsin. They were really friendly, but damn it sure was cold there!
So yeah, I like the people here too. Of course most everybody I know is from MH and I just luv y'all! :laughing6
Yea we know you love us.....especially the guys :keke:

Definately Texan. but it would still suck cuz there are so many cool spots in the rest of the states that we couldnt go to due to imigration. would a grandfather claus work in this situation?
