I would only be doing the dmv "ride behind" pretty simple stuff. ride around the block and make sure i signal. Not hard to do. heck if mine was legal I'd let someone do it. (no bullshit.)

word of advice. use a very samll bike to get your license or maybe take the MSF. saves on insurance so its worth the time and money.

all you need is the written part whichh is basic street knowledge. i know alot squids that get around like (in groups) that but none of the people i ride with have permitts. either they are all the way legal or none at all.

I understand where you're coming from but you have to see my point of view.

I don't ride by myself... you can make your judgements why, but it's mostly for safety reasons. If I was to go down, who would be there to help me? So no, I'm not riding illegally. The 'J' restriction on my bike says I need a liscenced rider within site. I always have that.

I ride safe... always will. I only ride fast on the track. So I do think I'm setting a good example. You can argue that, but in my eyes I'm NOT doing anything wrong. Why is it that I ride sweep on most rides and have lots of newbies ask me advice. It's probably because I'm a good rider and I've been doing it a fairly long time. I've read ToTW and ToTW II... I've done 7 trackdays and had lots of one on one with former professional and active racers.

I won't encourage someone to ride with just a permit, but I won't discourage it as long as they are doing it legally.

I honestly dont think its hypocritical.* If he's NEVER gotten a ticket like he claims, then how is that not showing good promotion of the "sport"? after 5 yrs I wish I could say ive never gotten a ticket while riding.* You would have never guessed he didnt have one until he said something about it.* Being hypocritical would be contradicting something you said not to do by doing it or vice versa.* He hasnt said "dont ride without your license"* now THAT would be hypocritical.* Being safe and not having a license are two different things.* I always tell people to be safe and I dont have insurance or inspection, hell not even registration now that I think about it, but would you ever know that if I didnt say it?* NOPE I think not.* I tell people to be safe as I myself ride with safety in mind, and are aware of my sorroundings.* just my 2 cents.*
