why even waste your time reading these amateur articles that don't give any proof to what they're saying, and don't author it so you can't get them for libel. and all you find this on is right-wing blogs and forums. hell i could probably make a little article showing that every Republican voted to make pedophilia legal and then post it on every hard-left forum and most of them would probably swallow it, but i haven't sank that far yet.
if they are going to write these little pieces, they should at least say what the piece of legislation was called and explain the full piece of legislation.
just because they voted for that doesn't mean anything. when they vote for a bill or whatever there might be 1000 ammendments to it.
My History Teacher explained to me that the Title 7 of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 was slipped in to gather opposition against the Act as a whole(it gave women equal rights), but apparently not enough people even noticed it-legislation being many inches thick, and hence women are equal. so sometimes you don't even know what you're voting for, so none of this really matters without further context

Alice,
Perhaps it is you that should do some research before shooting your mouth off.
The Senators voted against a specific amendment making English the national language.
They also voted for a specific amendment to give illegal aliens social security benefits without having to have paid anything in.
So much for "being buried" in a bill and their not knowing about it, the amendments were known, debated and specifically voted for / against.
One thing just so no one gets the wrong idea.
I am not against immigration, as long as it is legal.
My mom was a legal alien, with a green card, for over 30 years.
She came to this country, learned the language, and obeyed it's laws.
I've got a LOT of friends who have / are doing the same thing. To me it's an insult to the people who have been doing it legally to now offer amnesty to those that have not been.

I would've researched it if they provided some sort of information by which that would be possible, like a professional media source would, or at least named the ammendment. And even if it is a "specific ammendment" maybe it came down to certain pieces or words that they couldn't agree on, or whatever. I'm just saying this article isn't very thorough and is clearly slanted in being so hollow.

What aritcle are you referring to? It's a list of how members voted on a specific topic.
However, I'm done with you. As always there's not much substance to your bleeting, just a lot of noise.

and the other pieces between, I consider an article, albeit a small one, which seems to be preferrable for these spin pieces. like you said, no substance; just a lot of noise.

You could always go to the white house site and research who voted for what if you are concerned this is a right wing conspiracy. The real conspiracy is neither right or left it is all in conclusive under the mighty dollar.

When my grandmother came to the US, she was 62 years old. One of the first things she did was take English classes. She took them for 5 years.
Why is it when we go overseas, we are told to learn their language ... don't be the ugly American. But when people come here we are supposed to accomodate their language?
