what did yall pay for the plastics minus the tank? Godfather racing has the whole set for $400 and that inlcudes the upper, lower, front, and tail fairing. shipping is $50 and they were suggested by other 636 racers.

what do yall have?

they may suck but, for trackdays, they are a hella lot cheaper and better than factory street plastics, esp. if you fall down. :icon_thumright:

Hang out at a Kawi 636 message board (preferably one that's used by lots of racers) and I'm sure someone's selling used Sharkskins.* Place a Want-to-Buy ad there and see what happens.* Sharkskins fit and finish is top notch.* I got a tail, lower, and upper for my RC51 for about $550 off a message board.* Yeah they were different colors, but after a paint job they look brand new...

haaha carbon leave the man alone. but yea ive been looking for some race plastic on zx6r.com and havn't been able to find one. hmm maybe its cuz i am cheap and want a good deal. besides i am not in a hurry, but i just wanted some skins for a trackday which i haven't been, but i am hoping to be able to go soon. :dontknow: arturo is a admin at zx6r.com, which is pretty big. so i am guessing he has no luck either. but hey arturo when you do find a place to buy your skins, pm me the info so i can look into it.

skinz are expensive and i had opportunities to get them around $400 but i just waited too long. IF im doing constant track days ill get the best but now is just a waste for my experience, especially for plastics. for engine and suspension then i would get the best now.

Just buy some wrecked plastics for track days since you will not be racing or anything..... they may even make some sort of track day upper so you can ditch the lights and not loose those in case of incident. Or you could have a wrecked upper plastic welded and ditch the lights... I think Patrick knows somebody who does that kind of work for a reasonable price. :icon_thumright:

cheap rashed plastics for my bike WITH un-broken mounting tabs run around $100 each. track plastics would just be cheaper and less pieces to mount than OEM rashed plastics.

Ah well... it is always an option... I found a set of rashed plastics for my old R6 listed wrong on ebay and got the whole set to the door for $60. :icon_thumright:

I got my godfather plastics for $350 plus shipping. Now they've gone up. They are a bit thin but I have had NO problems with them. there were a few holes that were not aligned in the molding but as far as fit on the bike itself they fit great! Bottom line is you're more than likely gonna go down so what does it matter what you have. You'll repair them anyway. :icon_thumright:
