point it out to our fellow members if we see something that isnt a good deal, something that can be had at a lower price somewhere else? I would think that is what we are here for... to get each others backs. So if I wanted to pull at Stunt-r and buy a phiddy for 800 bucks and a week later post it for sale for 1200 I should expect no one to comment on it?

or if i buy a stereo at Sams Club for $60 and try to sell it on here for $70, it would be against the rules for someone to stop and raise the :bs: ??

just wondering.

I agree with this!! 100%. It just isn't fair or right to do something like this, Esp. to your "supposed friends"

..........................only if the person posts it with malicious intents, otherwise you're just hurting the person posting. what if he didnt know you can get it somewhere cheaper, theres always somewhere you can get it cheaper.

we are supposed to pm all of our friends to let them know that its not a good deal?

then we are just letting the potential buyers be aware that they can get it cheaper somewhere else. :icon_thum and letting the seller know it is over priced :icon_thum

I would want to be able to read it on the thread to help me make an educated decision... as long as they can provide proof of a better deal other places!

Tough subject. PM the seller. Give them the chance to lower the price first.

Then obviously no one should post any items for sale since...............there are many ads that can beat any price anyone that ever sold anything on this forum has posted.

I think a PM is great.
I've had items for sale that were priced a bit high and a PM helped me adjust price for a quick sale

yes, but there are some items that you just shouldn't say "help a fellow MHer out".

Like if i were to buy in bulk Shoei helmets at $300 a piece, and mark them up to $350. When they are being sold locally for $325 at CycleFarm, and I tell you that they are being sold there for $360.

Pass on the SAVINGS!

i think someone should be allowed to call their BS.

That's a bit outrageous. People sometimes just ask way too much for stuff, but maybe they don't know the value either. If you overprice and don't sell, you may not know why you can't sell until somebody says something about it.

plus, a lot of times people here start saying "Good deal!" on things, when it's not even a good deal. I think that may distort some other buyers' thoughts on a product, and we here on MH would just be helping that fellow MHer to get screwed over.

if you dont like the price, dont buy it. buyer beware and if you pay more than what its worth, its your own damn fault for not doing research.

although your intentions mean well to "help" other people, its not your place to shit in someones thread.

Longnguyen
05-23-2007, 03:33 PM
yea i mean i know where this thread came from. True that some will always ask more then other prices thats why its up to the person actually buying the item to be on top of his game and not get ripped off. every situation/item will be different.

Just pm seller or buyers....

Makes it simple. No need to call people out.

yeah and if the people genuinely interested in the product would have PM'd the guy it would have been different. instead there are posts like, "i can save $6 if i go to sams".
