they can be painted. most likely your wheels are painted from the factory.

maybe we can trade wheels if you gonna paint them! I have a 750 w/ black wheels, and wanted the blue wheels really bad!!

trade InspiredM3 for his black wheels and paint it like the LE Isle of mann TT edition from Europe. That would be teh sickness.

Most wheels are powdercoated from the factory, but they can be painted. Powdercoating is more durable than painting when it comes to tire changes and such.

There are some sickazz colors to powdercoat wheels with, even pearls and metallics!

I don't know about Tony, but I can't touch the cost of painting vs powdercoating a wheel. My powdercoater does wheels for $75/ wheel no matter what the color. I can't prep and paint a wheel for that, and the powdercoat is more durable.

powdercoating will definately be cheaper...painting the wheels would be better if you were to paint your bike an off color, only way to really match up. otherwise, i'd go the powdercoating route. i've heard powdercoating you'll notice a slight difference in acceleration though. weighs more i guess? :dontknow:

Azylum

ill prolly have them painted so theyll match.

Azylum

oooooooooooooooooh, i didnt know it worked the same way. id rather have them powdercoated for durability, i just wanted to make sure they match EXACTLY to the paint code.

the exhaust on tha gixxer is cool as hell :hs: . Were you going to paint the bike yourself or take it to a shop? did you want pearl/metallic effects in the orange or just the exact stock paint code? reason I ask is cause I know an owner of a body shop thats done bikes before (huntington auto-bissonett and dairy ashford) and he can give you a really good price. I think it would look interesting with pearl in the orange and flat/satin black :notworthy

im married to that particular orange. if tony wants to charge more for the paint, i understand. he has a business to run. but id sell my first born for that color.:laughing6

Buy some wrecked plastics to fix and paint. Don't scarifice nice ones. You can sell them off for more than the price of wrecked ones and paint.

Azylum
05-27-2007, 11:02 AM
why woud i want to buy wrecked plastics when i have perfectly good BRAND NEW ones already on the bike?

i think hes suggesting you buy rashed ones cheap and sell your good ones for more money. since you're going to paint them

They're more than likely powdercoated. You could get them color chromed, polished, chromed or whatever you desire.

they use chemical stripper or sandblaster to remove powdercoating, paint, or chrome from the wheels...so it shouldnt matter. i wouldnt paint them, they will chip like crackheads teeth.

justin02R6

just chrome the wheels

Yo, you sure you don't want the white on your bike to be orange? That would make it look a lot more like the liter bike.

Either way man I can't wait to drive past sonic and see tha beast out there! woo it's gonna be hawt fiyahhh
