View Full Version : My two cents
It's amazing how bed wetters and hypersensitive types (no offense to the good bed wetters and hypersensitive respectable folks that we might have here on the board) can throw their less than two cents worth of opinion on a thread and then close it. WTF?
Is this why you are an admin? To speak your mind and shut the shit down because someone might have a differing opinion other than your own?
It's a miracle that there are threads that survive past 2 pages because you're afraid that someone might not have the same boot licking mindset as restricted as your own

I know which thread you are talking about but I think right now it had good reason to be locked down... Talking about going 200 on the streets is not something MH needs to condone or put up with trying to get people together for that... If it was off the streets and in a controlled environment I dont think it would have been closed.

I don't think anyone said it WASN"T stupid. Riding a bike in Houston is considered "stupid" by alot of people.
My reasoning is there is a time and place. In my high speed situation i saw zero cars or life for that matter. been out there many times as a shortcut.
Dumb that HAD something happened no telling How long it woulda been to be found.
As other posts on the MH site just cus someone asked about doing 200mph, hearing about some of the antics that ALOT of peeps here do on the 610 loop etc is not that differant.

the way i see it is he wanted to do 200+. That CAN be done safely on public roads. If you have the RIGHT stretch of road, you know the road conditions, you see the ditches and fields around it, plenty long for any margin of error, no side streets, and someone on each end to let you know if someone encroaches into the ride area and to wait for them to get out, then it could be done relatively safely on public roads. is that more or less controlled than the track? that is a lot of criteria to meet but it can be done.

yeah so that when you have a blow out at 200 mph. and are in about 50 pieces all over the road.. that me and my wife and kids or grandkids have to be coming around the corner and see all this mess... no way man.. keep it on the track where they dont go..

Sorry man, but you're dead wrong.
Unless you are a majician or have some equipment that lets you scan ahead for the miles and miles it takes to accomplish this attempt, it is NOT safe. one at each end with no side streets? like i stated before
How do you account for critters coming across the road, you don't but it'll only kill you and the unfortunate critterroadway conditions, debris, know the road before you do it and scan it before the runhow can you be sure that there is no traffic coming across or on to the road etc, etc, etc. no side streets, as said before
But you guys keep on doing it, it's job security for a lot of public servants
Too bad the end results are so saddening for your friends and family :eh:
I'm no saint, I've had plenty of stupid rides and outings, I stand by my mistakes, and I have gotten damn lucky so many times. Not everyone gets lucky, some, like out recently departed friends, have families that would give their own lives so that they could stop that person from making that last mistake...

Hmmm, would you like to ask those that rode with Koskesh (RIP) if that's true?
At the track, you have an emergency response on location, you have people there to watch out for you, and you have all of your protective equipment on because it's the rules. Can say anything close to that about any street? (other than the ones in front of a Fire Station)
Like the old saying goes, you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink. You guys seem to know it all.
Keep on doing those things, because another old saying will eventually come true: "It's your funeral". Problem is, your actions may cause someone else's funeral too...
not true, if you take all those precautions then the rider is the only one killed in the accident

The road was put it and mantained well enough for you to be able to run on so there must be some reason they are keeping it maintained... Maybe because there is a house at some point on that road with possibly kids. SO you have a 50 50 chance that someone might be mentally scared by your actions!

Let me ask, what is it that motivates you to continiously attempt to push the (retarded) 'validity' of using a public road for stunting/speed test.
Just plain too lazy, stupid, cheap to find/locate a more appropiate area?
...or just some bizarre subconcious obession with the pos 'BikerBoyz' movie?
Let's make it real simple... it's illegal. No matter what you do, there is the chance of something happening involving circumstances/situations beyond your control with the pontential for negative impact/effect on outside parties.

Come on, I get the impression that you are much more mature than this.
The fact of the matter is, things like that- people posting up about how fast they ride on public roads for instance- makes us all look bad. When you would like to promote all of the good things about motorcycling, as Chris and the Mods seem to want to do, you can't let threads like that (which appear to be promoting such things, with a bunch of followers or supporters chiming in) go on. Perception is the key here. "Outsiders" and lurkers see things like that and automatically make the jump "all motorcyclist ride like idiots on the road".
Besides, after several pages, it appears that everyone got to chime in and give their opinion. The Mods just gave a parting word and closed it. What's the big deal?
i do not beleive this the thread have been locked either. Yes this is dangerous and could injure the rider or someone else if something went wrong, but so are a lot of other things on this board. the point someone made about the top speed thread making motorcycle look bad and thats why it was locked is BS> theres threads, videos, and pictures of people do crazy stunts on the street daily. is this safe? does this give motorcyclists a good standing with cagers? i dont think so. maybe we should go lock all of those threads also

this topic has been revisited over the years... there's always some group of motorcyclists that don't see what all the hub-bub is about...
talk of doing 200 mph on a public road... ten times out of ten - will get shut it down... mh does not condone that type of idiocy...
p.s. c'mon out to the track sometime mr. straight line and i'll show you the ass end of a bedwetter all day long... :hello:
