Me and Brad Kelly went out to Oak Hill this weekend and had a blast. We were the only two on the track the whole day. Rode my ass off, literally. We were able to stop on the track and go over some key points for the corner and also we did some braking drills that gave me a better understanding of how fast I can come into a corner and still make it. It was sweet... :icon_thumright: I am still having a mental block on Right hand corners since my lowside.
Has anyone else ever been out there? It is a hard track to ride and it would be even harder if there was a ton of other riders. I didnt get any pictures but I wish I would have on a few of the corners. I had a lap timer out there too and my best lap was a 1:43. Not sure if that is decent or not, i will have to check the CMRA race resaults to see where I would stand on that. Anyway just wanted to share my experience with everyone. Oh btw- $75 all day sunup to sundown 7 days a week. All you need is your race license and at least one other person with you. (no ambulance service) Sweet deal.

nothing yet, we'll start pulling the motor this weekend, i think its gonna be the shift fork and tube,,, i just downloaded the service manual for it, so now we can go ahead and pull it apart, i'll get the parts from Pan, and also do a couple other things to it while its down... everything ive read as far as tranny probs, points to the fork and tube inside the tranny,, so i'm hoping thats all it is

Henry, did you notice how slow the guys doing the licensing school were going? The dude on the yellow CBR600RR was the one that I passed a few times... only 1 of the 3 riders was doing a decent pace. I was doing around 12 - 13 laps each session so I figure I was doing just about 1:38's or so... but that's a pretty rough estimate. I wish I had felt comfortable at the track earlier in the day, then I would have pushed a little. But I just couldn't seem to get in a consistent rythym. I'd do like 5 good laps, then suck arse for the next 3... it was weird. I think most of my problem was that I hadn't ridden in about 7 weeks.

in the morning seemed like you were in a funk or something... but you stuck it out and by the afternoon (after the rain dried) you were nailin' bigbend man...
i dunno about he on 5 off 3 thing... your 'off' was probably still better than some of the cmra yellow shirts out there in the mock race...
scott was riding one handed around the whole track and they still couldn't keep up...* :eh: :dontknow: :keke:

Yeah, I'm running BT014s and it chewed up the right side pretty good... but I still have another trackday in them.
Nine right handers going clockwise and 4 of them are pretty high speed...

Thanks Henry, speaking with Ronnie and Scott they really helped me out on lines... people were early apexing big bend way too much. They showed me how to take the corner by late apexing it and that helped a ton. It amazing how much you can learn from good experienced riders just by asking questions.

If your on the track yes license, I dont know if there is a max out there. I dont think the owner really gives a sh#t. It is definitly not TWS though. It is a cart track that is old and full of patch work. Bumps everywhere, hills and valleys and basically a one lane country road. So all you street racers should feel at home, everything but the auto's. Oh and the first one to arrive in the morning gets the luxary of walking the track to kick Cayote shit out of the way. :keke: :yeahno:
