Has anyone attended a supermoto school?

I'm looking for anyone with experience attending a supermoto school. I'll like go to one but I bet I'd have to fly to California to do it. :sad7:

haha yeah, backing it in is like the ultimate achievement. i want to learn also, but i know i'm gonna highside it if i try so that's been holding me back for a while. I'd love to do a school, but the same thing - they're all like 1000 miles away, and you'd be riding someone else's bike, rather than learning on your own machine. Very different!!
maybe we can get some intrest at MSR-H since supposedly they are building a kart track with a dirt section.

i took the supermoto school of hard knocks...that or get the mini going, you'll never need professional training! if you need help on any of the bikes let me know. You know where I live.

Update - I talked to Al (general manager) at MSR-H. He says that YES they are building a 7/10ths kart track. I asked about supermotos on the track and he said "I will have to evaluate that. As long as they are not detrimental to the surface, then it should be possible." The words i don't like in that sentence are 'should' and 'possible'... Anyone want to give him a call and try to push the intrest, his contact number on www.msrhouston.com. (http://www.msrhouston.com/). I would like to build a CRF450 for track duties, but not if there is not a track to take it to..

its easy just get on the front brake hard and and slowly release the clutch while your foot is putting little pressure on the back brake. but take it slow and get used to goin little by little that way you dont crash singles and twins are good at this except the rc kinda sucks at it

You want to back it in? Why not come out to Huffman Motorsports Park when we have our next practice night and for $20 you can learn to slide a bike going in and powerslide it coming out all night long. There's no more forgiving place to practice than dirt and no cooler feeling on a bike once you get the hang of it. Then if/when someone does build a proper supermoto track that isn't 2000 miles away, you'll have a head-start on the competition.

My guess is that you'll dig flattrack so much you might just buy an extra set of 19" wheels and come race with us. :nod: Trust me, if your impression of flattrack is a bunch of crusty codgers on 40 year old machines slowly rolling around in circles in the middle of a field, then you haven't seen it in a while. We've got some of the most tricked out 450's around and kids that can flat ride the wheels off of em. The facility is great with concrete pit pads, real grass and our races are 100% spectator friendly. All the action is right there in front of you.
