i wont be out in june either. the july 2nd one is too close to july 4th and i tend to spend alot of money on that weekend on fireworks.
LSTD: July 29, probaly not since its race weekend all the race peeps will be in level 1, 2, 3, 4
thats my best time to go back but im scared.
damn...so what's left? August...something? Well, that'll give time to get off work and save some more money

your rigth, i need to see what i can do with somebody following me and not vice versa ON THE TRACK.
july 29 at LSTD im there. what do you think i shoud run in, level 1 again or 2. im thinking level 1 and try to get in the 2:05-10 area which i think can be done easier if i adjust my suspension and KNOW that im getting timed. i dont want to get timed until after lunch, though.

i'll let u be the judge of that... only you know what level you feel most comfortable with... What I have done in the past is I run a level and if I feel like im too fast for it I move up to the next sometime during the day. You may want to try that. If by lunch you feel like you're kicking ass in level C then you may want to see about givin B a try. Just an opinion.

C group with Lonestar will be like riding with the Level2 group at Ridesmart. It won't be to bad for you but, you might get irritated again because of the slow pokes. I will be trying to sign up for that weekend as well if you think you are ready for B group by that time. Although, being race weekend there will probably be alot of sandbaggers in the B group. :icon_thumright:

i dunno, B group is pretty fast compared to C and level 2 seems to have a little of both slow and fast riders.. so just use your better judgement.

I had a good time at the trackday, took a while to get back into the swing of things but by the third session I was doing pretty decent. Passed more people than got passed.
Not bad considering it was my first trackday in 10 months, first time on that track, first trackday since my crash and it was a race weekend so there were a few A group guys in B....
Henry, I want to see how bad I was sucking out in Big Bend when you get those pics ready, hehe...* :keke:
It was nice to meet some members here: Syd and Bejon.
Did you get your bike fixed and ready to go for Sunday Syd?
BTW... Friday was a baaaaaaaaad day to be on a ZX10. There were 2 there... and they had a total of 4 crashes!! Too bad about the dude with the MV Augusta, dumped it in Little Bend.

The MV was tooo messed up... but it was definitely in a crash, haha. The guy was knocked out cold for a few minutest so when he came back to the pits he was out of it.
Yeah, there were 2 ZX10's and they totalled 4 crashes... one guy dumped his when he was leaving from tech inspection, said his boot got caught on his peg. He crashed in the rattlesnake later on. He seemed to be pushing pretty hard throughout the day. The 2nd ZX10 was crashed twice also. The guy crashed on the wet track shortly after it stopped raining... then he went too hot into the rattlesnake and lowsided in teh grass. His bike was REALLY messed up.

I had no desire to get timed, haha... I had so much working against me that I was just out there for the fun of it this time. No competitive nature in me this trackday.
Although, when I passed the GSXR1000 on the outside of Big Bend that ruled... and the time I dragged the 600RR down the straight after Little Bend, that ruled as well, hahaha.

Yeah... nice and stock F4i. I was really contemplating selling it and getting a 600RR or 1000RR but after this weekend I fell back in love with my bike. Yeah it's not the fastest or best handling, but I still think it's the pretties bike in the paddock and it gets me around ok. I do need to definitely need to get the front forks Race Tech'd and some rearsets though...

the trackday i only got to run 2 sessions, and that tore up my tires, and running on cold tear tires for all the morning practices, so i couldnt' push anything... that first race was my first real time to push it on the track, on top of that my suspension was set too harsh, never did the practice saturday

But since with having the yellow shirt and missing a couple races there's no point in riding new tires at every track I'll do that next year.

You guys both suck... I was on wooden tires. They stuck like glue until I tried to turn... then, since I didn't use the proper grit sandpaper I was pushing the front hard in Big Bend. Had I used oak tires instead of pine, I think I could have dropped atleast 5 seconds off my time.
BTW... you sure you were only out ther 2 sessions? I think I saw you more than that. :dontknow:

I got stuck behind a few folks at the trackday... but being a trackday I didn't want to throw an sketchy passes. One dude on a red SV650 and the dude who took the CMRA lisencing class at the end of the day on the yellor 600RR... they were both pretty slow. So was the dude on the Repsol 1000RR. Everyone else was pretty quick... I only passed about 1/2 people in the field this time. Far cry from my last trackday at TWS when I passed pretty much everyone in B group. You can tell LSTD and Ridesmart are doing a great job, the skill level in the past 2 years has gone up tremendously.

No offense dude... but on a GSXR1000 with the speed you build up in the straight before that you HAVE to brake. The turn actually tightens up when going clockwise... now if you're talking about going counter clockwise, might be a different story cause the turn widens as you go through.

that's right, on an SV he doesn't builld enough speed, i downshift to 3rd, tap the brakes on the turn in point, and then hold constant throttle, then as i hit the clip point, i roll on =b

that's right, on an SV he doesn't builld enough speed, i downshift to 3rd, tap the brakes on the turn in point, and then hold constant throttle, then as i hit the clip point, i roll on =b
Syd, doesn't matter what bike he's riding when he's going 10 seconds faster than anyone here... :eek3: :notworthy: He's still building up lots of front straight speed because he gets such good drive out the Rattlesnake. I bet he has a higher corner entry speed than most people on 1000s.

Isn't it a fun little track... it seems like you are leaned over all the time. Only bad thing is it is a tire monster.... it chews through them things like butter.

That bike has some serious balls for a 600 class machine but I did not feel comfy on it turning. I have only rode it once so I imagine if you get used to it then you have a huge advantage.

If you're dragging your fairings it's one of three things... your body positioning needs work, your suspension isn't set up properly or your bike isn't designed to be ridden like that, haha.
