I currently have a pilot power, but need a new tire and was wondering if anyone has a pilot power 2ct and what they think of it vs the pilot power.

Also, wondering where I can get a good deal on a rear tire installed?

As far as a recommendation of Power vs 2CT, how do you ride?

I ride street all the time haven't did a track day yet, but I do hit some twisties here and there. I like the grip from the pilot power, but it only lasted somewhere in the 4500 mile range for me.

4500 miles?!?! i had the qualifier and a Bt0014 they both lasted only 3000-3500 miles.

I actually have been really good on this tire. Only a few burn outs:icon_bigg

If you're predominantly street riding I'd stay with the Pilot Power over the 2CT.

Is there any other tire you recommend that's pretty sticky but half ass durable?

The metzler Z6 will give you plenty of mileage and decent traction. It would be hard to out ride it on the street.

As stlal recommended the Z6 or the Pilot Road.

Are those going to do pretty good if I take it hard into some corners??
I know it's the game of give and take, Mileage or traction.

They give good traction for street use.

If you do more commuting and occasional twisties they are perfect. If you are pushin the limits the of course you want something a littl softer but like you said, it wont last as long.

Give them a shot, and better yet Patrick will hook it up.

 2ct on the front and power on the rear.

so far good combo on the roads and I think will be on the track(nothing extreme but..)

thinking a pilot road on the back and power on the front maybe penty for street and most back roads situations.

If you ride aggressive or hit twisty sometimes then I would reccommend you put the best tire money can buy, after all you are only cheating or discounting your life by buying cheap tires.

I just put the PP 2CT on the GSXR. Haven't ridden on them at all yet, but I will be next Sat. at the track!

After talking with a few people about it I'm going to get a pp 2ct tomorrow. Harder in the middle and softer on the side than the pp i have now, can't go wrong with that I guess.

Howdy neighbor. I have the 2ct's on my bike and I like them. They don't last long and they are probably overkill on the street but I'll stick with them.

The 2CT is softer both in the center and the sides than the standard Pilot Power.
If mileage with good traction is your goal, I wouldn't go with a "track day" tire like the 2CT.

I've got lots of customers running a Pilot Road rear wth a Pilot Power front with great results.

yeah my pp's didn't last much over 4000 miles but hey that will get into next riding season so wut the hell.. Huffman, hell yeah, we can start another THC (the huffman crew) lol

LOL. I'm guessing that'll be a small crew. Where you at in Huffman? I'm in the commons.

Good point. I was actually thinking of pricing a PP vs 2CT for the rear. I certainly never had any problems with the PP and I pushed them a lot harder than I have the 2CT.

You know where meyer rd. is at?? the 2ct i was told is softer on the side and harder in the middle which would be better for street

Nope. If you see Patrick's last post, he said the center of the 2CT is softer than the PP.
