LoL :eek3: Not at all man! I'll be on the next THC ride .. don't worry! I gotta try and convert a few more rice burners!
My boys keep asking "Can't you find any cruiser rides for us?". The truth is that it doesnt seem as easy getting "in" with a cruiser group without it being the bandidos or something. Speed bikes like to ride ... i like to ride ... what the hell. BUT taking a longer ride at slower speeds would be nice as well.
Sunday after 1 would be good. EVERYONE is welcome. We can meet on the North side of town (Spring) and ride to Yankees Tavern. It's a cruiser friendsly bar/restraunt in Carlos Texas. Here is their website that has their address http://www.yankeestavern.com/ . Also, here is a map from Spring http://maps.google.com/maps?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en&tab=wl&q= . Its about an hour to hour 1/2 ride. We would take either 2920 or 1488 over to 1774.
Tell me what you guys think.

I am good with it as long as the rain stays away.
Where is everyone going to meet in Spring?
I am close to 2920 & Kykendahl but can meet up anywhere in the area.

Don't know what part of town you are on, but we get out and about every chance we get; however, we usually head South, i.e., Noah's Ark for breakfast, Murphy's, Cruisers, sometimes Woody's in Galveston, sometimes towards Angleton or Alvin.
The ride to Yankee Tavern is fun, but for us because we live on the SE side of Houston, it requires too much highway to get to the fun FM roads to get their.
As a matter of fact, we are heading to Beeville tomorrow morning, staying the night and heading back Sunday morning. After the past two weeks I've had, I certainly need to get away!!!
PS: Enjoy y'alls ride this weekend -- I know I will.

Hi Mike. We recently got custody of our youngest granddaughter so our ride time has to be well planned in advance so we can make arrangements for Shay. For the time being, gone are the days of "let's hop on the Harley and cruize." Fortunately, it has worked out that her other grandmother was able to take her this weekend because we had been planning the "Second Annual Tribute to Zunlisted" Beeville ride for well over a month.

See my comment to Azylum above. Unfortunately, we won't be able to make it out on the Harley this coming weekend. :crying: No worries though, I'm sure we will get a chance to get together with some of y'all in the near future.

I noticed the two Dyna Lowriders right off the bat. If I was going to go back to riding solo, that would be the bike I'd seriously look at getting. While I can ride the Ultra solo, it's just too much bike with hubby on the back. I can sure tell when I have that extra 215 lbs. back there -- just too much for in town. You can bet on the next long trip, hubby will be my passenger.

Thats cool. My wife still isnt comfortable enough to do long rides but we are working on it.
The Lowrider is a perfect fit for me. I'm a pretty small guy and the Lowrider has a VERY low center of gravity. It basically holds itself up and corners really nice. My buddy in the pictures has the other Lowrider which is a 2002 (1 year older then mine) and after riding it a few times I knew I had to have my own. My baby fits me perfect and I love her. I still drool over road king customes but I try not to let her see ;) .

Thanks for coming along and bringing the other 109Rs .. we had a great time. I'm not sure what my pns are for this weekend yet. Probably going to try and get some golf in and some local riding. I was thinking about planning another ride for May 19th or 20th (sat or sun). I really enjoyed that short stretch we took through the national forest and thought maybe we could do some more of that and then finish through Cleveland.

Primary reason I gave up riding solo were the long trips. We wanted to do more trips strictly on the bikes and the cross-winds just beat the living daylights out of me. I'm not short (5'7"), have long legs, but I'm not a "built" lady. I told hubby I'd have to work out seriously with free weights to get to where I could take a trip to Big Bend on the bike. So, after 8 months, I was able to talk hubby into trading in his custom Fatboy for the Ultra and I sold my Honda Shadow Spirit 1100. I love the Ultra. It's an incredibly comfortable and balanced machine. I took it out solo on Good Friday and had a blast with that big boy. Had no problems whatsoever with the weight until I added hubby to the equation!!! :laughing6

Well its been 2 weeks I've been without my bike because of this starter issue. I bought an aftermarket starter last week ($110 w/shipping as opposed to the $400 harley starter ... $500 from the dealership!:gesture: ) and it came in Saturday. To get the starter out I had to remove the exhaust and the primary cover which means my mid controls and shifter had to come off as well. Put the new starter in and start putting everything back together and realize pretty fast that the threading in the jackshaft of the starter is wider then the harley starter although the desciption said it would work on my bike. I'll post some pics tonight of my baby all torn down.
After a few hours of removing all the parts and putting everything back together i figured out the threading problem. So now I am either going to pay this place $90 to fix my old starter (should have done in the first place) or try and mix match parts between the starters. I like the new starter because it is all chrome plated and my old 1 is black. The clutch gear in the silenoid /sp? is what went out in the old starter. So now i need to decide what i'm going to do.
Good news: Well now the the bike is broken down I went ahead and ordered my new Vance and Hines Shortshots and Kuryakyn forward controls which should be here this week. I plan on getting the starter fixed this week as well so by saturday I should be in good shape to put everything back together. It's a lot of work but very satisfying doing it myself.
I recently had the stage 2 carb kit put on the bike so hopefully I dont have to rejet the carb or anything for new pipes.
I want to ride so frakin bad!

Well, I'm back on 2 wheels! Ran into a few snags. Had my brother in law help me put her back together and once we got going it took about 8 hours to replace passenger pegs, add forward controls, change driver pegs, replace starter, replace oil filler cap, and replace exhaust. The snag that added the most time was due to bad assembly. I was having a tough time removing the brake linkage from the rear master cylinder. That pushrod has a lock nut but I guess they also used lock tight for whatever reason. Should have been as easy as unscrewing the linkage but that thing wasn't budging. A buddy of mine stopped by the house Friday night after leaving the bar and wanted to take a go at it. My mistake was letting his drunk arse touch my bike. His mistake was breaking off the end of the linkage into the master cylinder. Well, with everything being closed for the holiday my broinlaw and i took apart the master cylinder and took the part to his shop in Humble and he drilled out the broken bolt and rethreaded the pushrod. That took about 2 hours. After that we put the master cylinder back together and hooked up the new linkage no problem.

No and more than likely wont run the 280 that Dan had on his 9. After a little research I found that the 280 runs on a much smaller footprint over the 260. I think I am going to hit Patrick up for a Metz 260 when it's time.

Cool, I rode part of this route last weekend and want to check out that east side run Critical and I did'nt get to take last time. Here's the plan, let's meet up @ Krogers @ 2920 & Kykendahl, from there we head down Kykendahl, up Huffsmith to 2978, 1488 west bound, 149 north (runs through Montgomery), 1375 east & take a break in New Waverly. We will head up towards Livingston and back down to around the 1960/Huffman or Dayton area. I have not mapped out anything past New Waverly yet but will have a route put together for us.
For those of you not interested in a race through the route, this ride is for you. I don't plan to break any land speed records.
Your thoughts??

If you feel uncomfortable, slow down. That's what I do. There's a saying, "Ride your own ride." which means ride within your comfort level. Keeping up with someone isn't worth if it means hurting yourself or your bike. I know it can be hard to do but make safety your first priority and your pride second.
Also, I hope your riding with gear on. Helmet, jacket, glove, pants and boots. We can definitely go on a ride some time. I may not be able to make it out this weekend because next weekend, I'll possibly be heading out to the hill country to ride with some fellow Magna owners. You're welcome to join us if you want.

Well, guess I was to late. Rolled into Walmart @ 9:04 and didn't see any bikes :crying: . I hauled balls up Kurk checking gas stations and didnt see anyone so I turned around in the Woodlands. Sucks because today is a great day for riding. Not to hot out this morning. Really wanted to see the lake today .. oh well .. next time. Going to go ahead and change her oil and give her a bath. Going to have to ride somewhere after that .. its just to nice outside not to ride.

Crap bro, I hit it @ 9..... I went solo... Guess I should have called ya. I'll PM you my cell for next time. I thought maybe you had a long night last night..
It took me 4.5 hours to run it with no stopping for the exception of one stop for gas. The forest run was the best part of the whole trip IMO. I ended up crusing up towards the north side of Livingston, rode the east side of the lake and came back down through Denton.. There were quite a few 70MPH speed limit roads between New Wavery & Livingston so I made better time than I thought I was going to.
Where are you thinking of crusing to? I am going to rest for a bit and may be out in a hour or so...
