how much difference does it make to have someone ride with you on back?
alot. your adding more weight. if your not a good rider urself leave the passenger at home.
i;ve only done it a few........wife's been then only one on the back, and she almost lost that privelage when one time i was turning to go up the driveway to work, and her foot dropped off one of the pegs and cause a sudden shift in weight. i stopped the bike there, and told her to get off LOL she's only been on the back time after that.

it's a pretty big change, get some miles before you take passangers.
remember if anything happens to them, besides the guilt they're gonna sue your pants off to pay for the hospital trip.
they should be wearing as much if not MORE gear then you.

of course i was asking because i want to take people on rides occasionally, probably a good idea to actually learn to be a fluent rider before putting someone else's life in your hands.
My girl and I go riding all the time. You just have to be careful and make them aware of what to do and not to do.
depending on the passenger some passengers will put all their weight on you casue , which will make you tired faster.

And hurts your balls. :keke:

tell the passenger not to help you lean and when turning not to look down, but in the direction we're going in.
i usually tap my girl on her leg to let warn her about bumps or change of speeds.

First time I took the wife on a ride I was still a newbie....!!!! :eh: :eh: :eh: Firts think I noticed was the braking..!! You need to be very, very aware of that, also as mentioned above, the change in the overall weight of the bike and the handling, after that first ride with the wife I do not feel confortable any more about taking a passenger.
Here's a picture of that trip, we went for breakfast at La Porte, TX from Houston Downtown.

but then there's the other end of extreme, i picked up this one chic and she was soo scared(all in her head) that she locked on me tight. Now i didn't mind that part too much(she was a model) but she was locked on so tight, that i couldn't breathe, my nuts were inside the gas tank, and she was sitting on MY seat, not the passenger. Then she would scream right in my ear when ever we went over 5mph. it was pathetic.
:laughing6:
wife sorta did the same to me. she started on the passenger seat, but kept sliding forward till my nuts were on the tank. :yeahno:

I know how passengers feel on dirtbikes and that alone has scared me away from putting anyone on my GSXR (not that my gf even wants too). So many girls at my fraternity house ask for rides so i keep it real easy to say no. . . I have never even put on my passenger seat. I think its nuts to have a passenger on these things. Not only are they just 100% not designed for it (im sure the passeneger handling falls somewhere around the aircap on the tire nipple when it comes to engineering) but I like my bike being mine. The experience would suffer with a dumb bitch yelping in my ear. I have a special place for dumb bitches yelping, and it has four posts, not two wheels :icon_thumright: !
