Brandon has wore them as have a couple of other racers I know.
Decent gloves but I still prefer the Teknic.

I'm not too impressed with Teknic after the last two sets I've gotten.
Their customer service is A+ but their gloves seem to have MFG. issues.

You prefer the Teknic Gloves but, you think Komodo suits are top notch right?

I picked up a pair of Teknic Violators from MU at
Patrick's suggestion a couple of weeks ago. The
weird thing was that I replaced Teknic gloves with
different Teknic gloves and even though they're both
marked XL they are very different in size. The older
XLs were larger than the new ones, (yes I know they
stretch but not that much). FWIW the old gloves were
Teknic carbon/kevlar.

Helds are okay, almost certainly better than most mainstream brands. What I don't like about most high end motorcycle gloves these days is the exposed stitching on the fingers. Held, A*, lots of others have this. It's supposedly for comfort but it won't be comfortable if you crash on it and your glove opens up. Teknic actually doesn't do this I think, good for them.

I have Helimots which seem pretty nice but they don't fit me that well. That's a personal thing. They are similar to my Helds but they don't have exposed stitching on the fingers.

Most gloves are just poorly designed. All those little plastic and carbon fiber doodads look cool and might inspire confidence but in reality it's just more stitching, more holes in the leather, more points where the glove will fail. Simpler is better, but it doesn't sell.

Illegal child labor just aint what it used to be. damn slackers. Don't you feel all warm and fuzzy inside to know that some peasant in ___________(insert 3rd world country of choice here) made your gloves?

Teknic have served me well with all of my spills but, they both seem to have stitching problems.

I have had (2) pair of Held gloves with stitching problems. I currently wear Teknic gloves without problem.

Gotta disagree with you there [*looks at grind marks on his Teknic gloves with the "fancy" knuckle and top of finger "doodads"*].

My argument is that it will be easier for the glove to fall apart if you poke holes all over it and insert little pieces. I'm glad it didn't fail you. Do you think a simple layer or two of leather would have failed you? Or do you think the little plastic things will actually prevent broken bones? I just think it'd be better without it.

I really like the Knox inserts in the new Teknics
They work VERY well with crash and they do not get in the way.

But the stitching still SUCKS

I have no idea, but scorpio may have been on to something. I know all of Komodo's stuff is made in Pakistan. I venturing that most of the larger manufacturers farm there wok out overseas. I still plan on buying my next suit from them.

Just remember that this may be the kid that made your gloves and suit.:confused1

Part of the reason is the middle men, everyone has to make money. For instance I know the dealer markup on a pair of A* GPtech is in the $70 range, at least. More if you are a bigger dealer. There is also a markup from the distributor, and from A* to the distributor.

Another reason is just the label sewn onto the cheap Paki glove. If it's something you never heard of, it will end up cheap. If it's A*, who sponsors big racers etc.. they can ask for more and people will pay. Racer billboards are money well spent, it makes people think your stuff must be the shit. Think Nike. The gloves won't be much different though, if at all.
