I turned the key on today and all turn signals and brake light are lit up, which is odd because they are not supposed to be. Also the headlight doesnt power up when i turn the key on, nor does the full pump, which means the bike wont start :crying: Any idea what this could be?? I need some help on this one, i would really hate to have to tow the bike somewhere :crying:

What bike do you own? Did your bike get wet recently? check your fuses first.

Did your bike get wet recently?* check your fuses first.

I was thinking that at first. Ride in the rain?

Bike never rides in the rain, i checked the one little fuse box, they are all ok it seems. I have a 2001 F4i by the way. Anyone know how to trouble shoot :icon_thumright:

I'm stumped. It has to be something with your puter.

check the battery,, that could be it,,,, they do wierd things when the battery shits on you.... will it turn over when you hit the starter button.

I just put a brand new battery about a month ago, They bike will turn over, but its not getting fuel because the fuel pump doesnt power up :(

can you hear the fuel pump run as soon as you turn the key on??

but that doesnt make sense b/c the other stuff isnt working properly,, so it shouldnt be the fuel pump,, i would take it to Patrick and let him check it out for you.
Have you dropped the bike or anything prior to it failing to start?

No, the fuel pump doesnt come on when i turn the key, nor the headlight. I have never dropped the bike. I was hoping i could figure it out, i hate to have to tow my bike over there, but i guess im not going to have a choice :crying:

first try calling a shop, preferably motorcycles unlimited (Patrick has been know to come pick you up himself, saving you a big WRECKER FEE) tell him the prob,, it may be something he can troubleshoot over the phone and get you going again, or it may be something that he'll have to see for himself,,, but he may help you out by picking up the bike himself,,,,

I live off greens rd and hardy.... I printed the service manual from online and took all my fairings off and messed around with my bike, seems there is something loose up front near the front fairing(headlights). Either way i got the bike started, if you bump the side of the bike near the headlight, the headlight will come on, and then you can flip the kill switch and you can hear the fuel pump start up and the bike starts fine. I couldnt figure out exactly what is loose or is causing this, but atleast i got it started so i can take it over to MU.
