After reading the article in this thread (http://www.motohouston.com/forums/showthread.php?p=520045#post520045) I feel like I need to get some riding pants or armor to wear under my jeans.
Recommendations?

armored riding pants are the best way to go, but we dont always want to/can wear leather motopants all day.
You could get some reinforced jeans. I know Icon has a few choices, although Icon is not the best of brands, Im sure you could find something comparable.
Hope this helps.

I got my overpants at Honda of Houston, they have a pretty good selection. For daily commuting, they are perfect. I get to the office, take them off and have my regular pants or jeans underneath. I have the Joe Rocket Cleo (Ladies), which are mesh but have CE rated padding on the knees and foam on the hips and butt.
I am looking into maybe getting some full textile pants though for weekend or longer rides. Aerostich has the best quality from what I've seen and their catalog has tons of choices. I think Firstgear makes some that guys like too.

I ended up ordering these. No padding but still better than my jeans.
