what are the benefits?

i need a two strong benifits to wearing gear, i have to put them into my speech and i just keep coming up with ..."its safer" that just wont cut it. what im looking for is like do insurance companies give any rewards for anything beside taking a MSF course. and where i could find this on the internet because i have to source it

Can you use visual aids? Take a piece of each and wrap them around a sand bag, then drag them behind your car on string and display them to show how a 100-foot slide would impact each.

If you can play videos during the speech, search youtube and find some squids go down w/o gear and show the class what they look like. Then find some GP guys sliding off the track at 100+mph and them walking away.

I can't believe this question is being asked, but I will bite...
1. minimize injury in the event of crash (cheap insurance for the rider)
2. Protect the rider from the elements (wind, rain, cold, etc.)
3. Draw the attention of other motorists (why bike makes don't make dull colors, they are very bright and make you take notice, most gear is the same)
4. Make a desired fashion statement (we call them posers)

Thanks, but it's not an original idea. It's something I saw in an Aerostitch catalog.

Tested On The Rack
We made 20 lb. sandbags out of denim, regular nylon, leather, and our 500 Denier Gore•Tex® /Cordura Nylon, and filled them with a special mixture of silica and a marker powder. Then we suspended them beneath a heavily weighted platform and dragged them down the road behind a truck just to see them wear through. Ouch. Performance art? No way. A physics experiment? Sort of (our first abrasion tests inspired a cover story on abrasion several years later in Cycle Magazine). Repeated testing shows the superiority of Gore•Tex® /Cordura Nylon over other materials.
