Penske or Ohlins.... Elka makes a decent shock as well. But your best bang for the buck is going to be RaceTech componentry. Ohlins and Penske are gonna set you back atleast $800.

You're gonna have to replace brake pads every race weekend... flush and bleed the lines as well. You really should do it after every trackday to be safe. The stock rotors are gonna warp fast, so he's gonna want to replace them with a more sturdy racebred type. The wave rotors, from what I've read, really aren't worth the xtra $$... they dissapate heat a little quicker, but not enough for the average joe to feel/use.

This is why racing is sooo pricey, you have so much you need to replace after each race weekend. I want to do CMRA sooo bad, but after speaking with a few long time CMRA guys you're looking at $600-$700 per weekend for sprints only! I have a truck payment, house payment, car payment and school loans to deal with. That's almost $2500/month right there. I don't want to be dropping all of our disposable income on myself... it sucks being responsible!! :rolleyes:

actually, the problem with my calipers are the same problem the 04+ R1s had with some of theirs... it's a warranty problem. I've heard of changing your pads after every raceday and bleed the lines as well... but i talked to a few of the expert racers and they change your pads every 2 race weekends. As far as the rotors go, in relation to the race rotors, yes stock rotors do warp a bit faster, but i know guys that have been doing track days and races for over a year and they still haven't warped... some of the top guys don't even use the brakes that much, they do a hell of a lot of engine braking, like i swear when i was watching ty, he didn't use the brakes but like 3 times lol i know i'm probably wrong, but daym that guy is fast lol
