+1 that way your CHL wont have a restriction on what you can carry.

get a longer barrel revolver, those snub nose revolvers have terrible recoil and terrible accuracy, you'll end up shooting 5 innocent bystanders before you hit the actual target.

I guess you would know best, but is a revolver really easier to load one handed?
I remember the bank robbers in florida in the mid eighties that shot up all the FBI guys with Mini-14s as being one of the main reasons they switched to autos. One FBI guy had been shot in the hand, and was then killed while trying to reload his revolver.
Seems like with an auto you just drop the clip, hold the pistol in your lap, slide in new clip, and hit the slide release, no?

Javi, not knocking your right to think as you do, just would like to know. What is this drama that you keep mentioning?
I carried for more years than I care to admit, and I have never had any drama, I did have ONE instance where a perp had a gun, it wasnt drawn, but in his waist, mine was at the small of my back, I calmy talked him out of his anger spot when , since I am drama laden by carrying, I should have just drawn and we could of had a real shoot out, after all, isnt that what everybody said would happen when Texas started allowing it?
Yes, its what "they" said would happen.
To date, with all the redneck Texas background, NOT ONE instance of this happening yet. NOT ONE.
so, please take the time and educate us all on this so called drama you speak of?
Having the ability to protect you and yours is a Constitutional right, and its a crime in itself that the states can mandate or override the US Constitution, but they did anyway. To be able to even the odds if that fateful day does come, is better than to socumb to being a victim w/o even a whimper.
Wasn't it Zapata that said its better to die on your feet than to live on your knees. ?

Más vale morir de pie que vivir de rodillas (It is better to die on your feet than to live on your knees). What a heroic statement. My copy of The Oxford Dictionary of Quotations attributes it to Dolores Ibarruri, "La Pasionaria," the Spanish republican activist of the civil war era, said to have proclaimed the defiant phrase in a speech in Paris, September 3, 1936. We Mexicanists know that the statement has long been credited to Emiliano Zapata, used to rally his "men of the South." Zapata was killed in ambush in 1919. A 1924 publication in Mexico, however, indicates it was used in print by Práxedis G. Guerrero in his efforts to launch a revolution against Mexican dictator Porfirio Díaz. Guerrero was killed in 1910 in Janos, Chihuahua, in the early days of the Mexican Revolution. He was 28 years old. He died on his feet.
But yeah, a badass one at that.

I don't think it would be anywhere as difficult as you're thinking it would be. Just stabilize it with your thighs and load it.
But yeah, either way...you can't go wrong with the dependability of a revolver. When you pull the trigger you know it's going to go bang.

when i have my leg on, my thigh(whats left of it) is put into a carbon fiber socket, so what you need to do is somehow figure out how that dam clip is not gonna slide all over the place on that piece of carbon fiber.
BTW- i do have just a little experience being a gimp, and i also use to own a 9mm, that i sold because yes, i could load the clip, but it was very time consuming and a real pain in the butt.
so in ending, its not that i THINK that its difficult, i know it is.
but thanks for thinking about me:icon_thum

Aye, I hear ya. I thought about recommending a magazine speed loader, but there are a lot of different kinds out there and I'm not familiar with them all. (not sure what would/wouldn't work for you) So I wouldn't be very helpful in that department.
I'm more a fan of automatics, but can still understand the appeal of a revolver. At any rate, I don't suppose it really matters as long as your proficient with it.
Enjoy your new firearm.

I'll load the clips for you, you shouldn't need more than two at a time since you can't run away. If you have shot more than one clip, you're in a war and all hell is going to break loose so don't bet on coming out alive anyway.

my thoughts on the CHL are....
for women, it's a good idea I think....allows them to level the playing field when they are out alone
for men, it's just a macho thing....there is no situation that a gun is really going to help with when you're out in public, just turn and run or give them what they want then turn and run.
(having a gun at home is a different thing all together)
Belive me, I have first hand experience with the gun and macho thing...
I've had a gun pulled on me twice for no good reason by two CHL holders. Both times were over road rage type deals where they got pissed cause I honked my horn or passed them and then they pulled a gun and showed it to me as if to say "look what I have don't mess with me". Both times I called 911 and turned them in to the police. The first time, I was instructed to follow at a safe distance until the police could catch up with the guy which they did. This guy had 3 loaded handguns in his truck. That was about 5 years ago. This guy lost his 3 handguns as well as his CHL, was given probation and will not be allowed to get his CHL again. He also had to write me and my family (my wife and son) a formal apology letter which was mailed to us by the DA.
The most recent time was a few months ago and it was a guy who lives in my neighborhood. I was unable to keep up with him in traffic and the police drove past him not realizing it was him on their way to the "area" where it happened. They said that since they didn't catch him right then that there wasn't much they could do but take a report.

depends on your practice and comfort level, I could load 14 rounds into a pistol mag one handed about as fast as you could a revolver, but I could load a revolver as fast as I could load my pistol mags. I am comfortable with them and use them alot. But I do understand what you are saying.
My next point, 6 round needs to be reloaded more than 12 or 14.

ISSANNI,
damn that is jacked up about people pulling a gun over someone honking their horn.. I have people around me all the time acting stupid honking, cutting off or riding my ass.. I never ever think to pull my gun.. I just get out of the way. it seems like I am more calm when I carry than when I don't because I know how much trouble I could get myself into w/ that thing..
I want a new gun now after seeing these damn threads
Yeah it was pretty messed up how those two incidents went down. The first one I had my wife and son in the car and the guy cut me off and almost hit me so I honked. He pulled a hand gun from the glove box and held it up in the back window of his truck. The second time was a guy from my neighborhood who I happen to see nearly every day now, I passed him going out of the neighborhood after he stopped to talk to someone driving from the other way in the neighborhood, when they stopped to talk they were blocking the whole road so I just tapped my horn to let him know I wanted around....I guess that pissed him off cause he kept trying to get me to rear end him so I just passed to get away. Then when we came to a stop sign he got out, got his gun from the back of his Navigator and then came running up towards my car. I jumped out in front of someone and then turned into a small lot where I could see which way he went so I could try to follow, got his plate number but then lost him in traffic. (we were stuck trying to merge into traffic from the stop sign that's how he had time to retrieve the gun and come at me) The cops are watching his every move now. :)
I want a new gun too.....those one's that Patrick posted for sale sure look nice, too bad I just spent $600 on riding gear for the wife.
