Road Racing World magazine, tire test.....street tires
Just a quick summary...
The tests were very in depth(lap times,corner entry speed,mid corner speed,exit speed,recomended psi ect.) and were done by 2 very fast racers at oakhill raceway...
Track day /street tire was won by dunlop 208gpa.They even said it was kind of bogus and was a "ringer" tire because it is baicly last years race tire.
The street/track tires were done aon a new 636 and the top times were not that far off from the race tires that wee tested on a fully race prepped gsxr 1000...something to think about.
2nd. Michelin pilot power. said the front tire was awesome,grip,feedback..the back just spun a little on corner exit.
This and the 2nd,3rd place tires all did almost the same lap times as the 208gpa...just a hair off.not bad for street tires.
3rd. Bridgestone bt-014 seconded fastes lap time i belive.
4th.Diablo corsa
5th.avon av49 pro
6th. maxxis supermax
7th. Metzler m1's.Said they had terrible grip comaperd to the rest
8th.Contiforce maxx.Said the rear was terrible,wich it is on the trac.I rode a set on a buddy's bike and the rear was bad...on the street they are really good tires.
