Has anyone had any experience with the HJC AC-11 Livewire helmet? How is the ventilation? Does it come with a breath guard? I can't seem to decide between the HJC or the Scorpion EXO700 Crack Head. Plz give me your input.

Get the one that fits your head the best. Ventalation is not really relative in the houston heat. Remember the padding will wear so buy it a little snug.

i know to buy one that fits right and have tried them on but don't know if the HJC has a breath guard and how the ventilation is.

go cycle gear and buy it, if you dont like it you can return it within 30 days if you dont mess it up, that what I did to debate between arai and shoei!

I like my scorpion 700 for the most part.

It fits nice and snug, removable foam for easy cleaning, never fogs up(well for me it doesnt), and easy to change sheild. The downside is no sheild lock(never had a problem with it yet but would be nice to have), a little on the noisy side, heavyish, and not Arai quality.

Overall good bang for your buck for a street helmet. Picked mine up for 160ish.

I have an HJC CL-SP (cost around $160) which is very similar to the helmet you're looking at.....

Honestly, it's 'OK' for the price point....but wasn't all that comfortable for me having it on any longer than about 90 minutes to 2 hours or more.

Ventilation is good on my HJC CL-SP, to answer your question.....but I was happy to move up to my Arai RX-7 Corsair (cost around $600) which is hands down the best helmet I've ever worn, for me and IMO of course.

I would definately say, go with which one is most comfortable on your head and make sure you buy from a place that can really help you with fitment. Also most helmets that have washable liners also have removable cheekpads so if you need to make the cheekpads either more/less snug you can usually buy an extra set that are a bit thinner or thicker.

The Scorpian and the HJC are both nice helmets.... in the HJC, you don't get the breathe guard... things I like about the Scorpian:
1. it vents really well, but a lot of air comes in through the bottom near your mouth which is annoying sometimes....
2. the wick lining is awesome... I have never had to wait for my helmet to dry to put in back on after a getting sweaty on a hot Houston day
3. the helmet fits so tight that it forms to your head... I don't like my helmet being able to move on my face....
4. the shield has never fogged up on me
5. removal and replacement of the shield is way quicker than other helmets...

The only issue i have with the Scorpian is that shield only has three settings... on the HJC you have more settings and can usually leave the shield about 2-3mm open for venting.... The HJC was banned from AMA wasn't it? Regardless, get the Scorpian, you will be pleased.... I have been so far...

Oh yeah, I heard from somewhere that Scorpian was actually started by ex-Arai engineers.... on the other forums I am on, many have stated that the fit of the Scorpian is similar to the Arai... not bad... you get a Arai-type helmet for a HJC price....

I'd go with the Scorpion. I got a cheapo HJC as a backup helmet and haven't worn it but two times. It fogs horribly and the shield kept popping open. Ventilation is not as favorable.

I don't know anything about the type HJC you got but the Scorpion has a removable liner, anti-fog shield and great ventilation. When you are trying to keep your head cool, it will do its job. I got really hot in my HJC.

The HJC AC-12s are really nice don't know about the ac-11. HJC seems to be making much better helmets than they used to.

Get what fits your head the best!
