Perhaps to promote the new site, and make some support money you could sell moto houston t-shirts. $10-15?

well, lobor6 is the guy that can get us the shirts... I guess I need to talk to him more about it because I was thinking about wanting a motohouston shirt for at least myself. But yeh, It would be a great way to get the word out.

I know a few shops where we might get a discount. What connections does lobo have? Shirts would be cool. We could represent like C.I.A. :)

I am a Graphic Artist by day, work for a Promotional and Printing company here in Houston, IF we can all agree on what artwork, shirt colors etc. I can get them done cheap, we get shirts straight from the mills. Keychains, hats, koozies, mousepads, Paper products like Business cards, flyers,......... basically anything and everything that could be printed, silkscreened, or embroidered on I can do...

t-shirts sound like a good idea. im a newbie and all but i'd pop for one. as far as a design goes i'l throw my 2 cents in by suggesting a clean look with a good pic of a bike or 2.

I'd like a shirt with a clean look too, no huge graphics. Just motohouston, and maybe a small bike.

Like I said IF we can get something agreed upon I can get it into production......

I'll do it at cost maybe even a lil extra to turn into server donations for the site. After we get it all going I can do some Gif's for banner ads that could make ordering alot easier too. We'll have to get all the logistics worked out with Solracer and SportVtech for that. If Anyone has anymore suggestions or Ideas post them up and we should poll on them and I'll get started on artwork for everyone to proof and vote on......

based on my experinces with larger forum, the idea of shirts sounds good on paper, but the actual purchase of it wont be as high as expected.

maybe a single batch of 20 will be ok. how about the forum banner up top in front of the T-shirt?

just an opinion here.... i envisioned a black shirt with fat white lettering saying "moto-houston" accross the chest with a pic of a single bike under it, then like www.motohouston.com on the back across the shoulders. but that might jsut be me....like i said, jsut an idea really. i'd still be interested in a shirt tho.

I'll donate a picture of my bike with a motohouston sticker on it if we agree to put ona bike on the shirt. I have seen it on flyers and it looks nice. I will try to post a copy of it.

i like the black t-shirt idea with white lettering, pics or watever...

keep it below $15 and i'll get one for sure.

05-04-2005, 08:12 AM
We should get some simple shirts made up with the new logo up top. That would look pretty sweet.

Black.....its about to be sumer, or already is. White is a wiser choice with black graphics. And not every body rides the same bike so it has to be general. For those of use who are go to the track or ride in the middle of the day, do you want to wear a black shirt under your leathers in June?

CarbonJames
05-04-2005, 08:50 AM
yes i agree with speedster00, white would be the wiser choice

05-04-2005, 08:58 AM
If someone made some white ones up with the logo up top, I would definitely buy one.

niiiiiice... :)

ok... i have one suggestion... but this is gonna be somewhat alex... oh... i mean ghey...

i think the logo should be compressed horizonatally - so that the tee shirt can be read even if the wearer is wearing their joe rocket or whatever...

if it's a loooooong logo and somebody's wearin a jacket... all the other person is gonna see is possibly 'Houst'...

ya'll see what i'm sayin?...

meh... i'm just sayin... 8)

Solracer
05-04-2005, 11:57 AM
Well, Actually, that was for the back of the shirt, the front will sport "MotoHouston.com" and I was thinking about having it in the pocket area, but I think you are on to something with it compressed in the middle.

CarbonJames
05-04-2005, 11:57 AM
thats nice but i think i like the duc better.

CarbonJames
05-04-2005, 11:58 AM

Solracer
05-04-2005, 11:59 AM
Do yall want this or the web logo as the image for the shirt?

We thought it might be a better idea to not go with the same design as the web logo, but Id like the input yall have.

CarbonJames
05-04-2005, 12:03 PM
i would say that if the cost isnt too high, then can we go with both, one on the front and one on the back...

just an idea.... ive never made shirts before..

SBK Pilot

a krylon logo... lmao!...* :D

i think i'm gonna leave the concepts to larry...* :-[

05-04-2005, 01:26 PM
Yeah I definitely like the big logo to be on the back.* I'm not sure about the front though.* *Don't really like the vertical idea that much.

well, i for one am not really down with all the crazy colors and airbrush type graphics. im still sayin to just keep it CLEAN! i think all that the graphics would do is clutter up the shirt ....instead of the airbrush stuff, consider using real pictures.

That is a good idea.* I don't know about others but I'm not really a fan of airbrushing.* Someone should design up some and post up a poll to decide.

The bike pic in the MotoHouston.com banner up top I would guess was taken from another site. I don't know.

i bet, but putting it on a shirt and selling it would be a problem. now if you guys edit the pic a little (erase/change parts on the bike) then that would avoid POSSIBLE problems.

i like the pics though :icon_thumright:

yea, instead of the bike being sponsored by Fila, we culs change it so it would be sponsored by Bila. haha i doubt there would be any trouble with selling the shirts with a pic of a bike like that on it even though we dont own the rights.

The pics I posted are suggestions to get the creative processes flowing in everyones minds who would have an idea or constructive suggestion.

Copyright would belong to the entity Motohouston.com and would not infringe on anyone elses creative works. As for the airbrushing......... Airbrushing a "T" wouldn't be a smart idea the process is all hand done and each shirt would vary one from the other, time factor and costs would be crazy huge. All the shirts my company does are "Screenprinted" or "Embroidered" the inks wont fade after washes and the "T"'s are all name brand.. cotton or cotton blends while the weight of the shirts havent even been discussed yet They could be heavy IE: Winter T-shirts or light Summertime shirts.

We did all the Dawgs on Hawgs T' shirts in the past Stevens & Pruetts rides, as well as company shirts for all of Thrifty Car rental, all of Six Flags Astroworld, Waterworld, Splashtown. We also do event specific shirts for IHRA events for the Baytown and Sealy tracks.

I explained to Solracer the costs to doing these "T's" *Spot color which is basically defined as different non-fading or intersecting colors is the cheapest process. Multiple colors and multiple screens and passes cost more too....... Then you get into the 4 color process like Pictures and very detailed works gets to be even more expensive. Running off 1 shirt is mad expensive, 10 a bit better 100 even better and 1000 alot better, because costs are broken down across the entire lot of shirts obviously the more we decide to do and the less colors and detail the cheaper they become for us who are buying them in the end.

So in reality something very plain and basic 1-2 color wont cost much at all for people who are interested in ordering one, and the obvious solution to cutting costs would be to keep it simple like a logo of sorts and the web addy on front and back.
