I think a harley engine would be tits with gear driven cams. Would be able to squeeze out some rpm's out of it too.

That looks remarkably similar to the old 45c.i. flatheads with the very short pushrod tubes. The main reason H-D still goes with pushrods is due to engine height. An overhead cam V-twin is a very tall motor. Yamaha discovered this and uses pushrods in their Star line...
