I am new to riding and looking to purchase a Joe Rocket textile jacket. I have my eye set on one of these three but can't decide on which one. I have read some reviews but they all mention that they needed fleece liners due to cold weather but it is NOT cold here in houston. Please let me know any input you may have on the "Meteor 5.0" and the "Alter ego" or the "older Atomic" jacket or if they all just plain suck and should look into a different brand. The "Alter Ego" does zip into a full mesh jacket when the outer shell is removed but i just don't know if i like the way the shoulder pads look? Let me know which one you think is best, they all fit good but would like to know the pro's and con's on these, if any. Remind you, I do not want leather, at least not yet. Here is what my helmet looks like:

meteor 5.0 looks tight.
your on the right track by going with good cheet... i went cheap on my textile stuff because i knew i would never wear it.. and as it turns out i was wearing it because i was cold one night on my phiddy and i crashed at about 20 mph.. it did its job.. but it also got fooked up :eh:
moral of my story
get the best one!

Dont have experience with wither of these two jackets but do with Joe rocket(I dont like it), I like the way the Alter Ego splits into the two different(mesh and textile) But I just dont trust mesh jackets alone.

I am not a big fan of Joe Rocket.
Use Fieldsheer and you can get that from Patrick at Motorcycles Unlimited.

Both Fieldsheer and Alpinestars offer better jackets IMO, and in the color schemes you're looking for. Come by the shop and we can get you sized up and try on some of the jackets.

WELL BRO 2 BE HONEST I HAVENT RODE WITH ANY OTHER JACKET BESIDES JOE ROCKET. MY JACKET DOES HAVE A LINER INSIDE ALREADY,NOT SURE OF THE MATERIAL BUT ITS NOT MESH....KEEPS THE COLD OUT PRETTY GOOD,EVEN BETTER WHEN I WEAR A THERMAL UNDER. BUT HELLA COOL WHEN ITS 70-80 OUTSIDE...AND OF COURSE FULL LEATHER IN TX IS GONA BE IN HELL HOT....:violent5:

get the insulating liner if you get the jacket. I have a JR textile and even though it has like 3 layers it still gets pretty nipply under 60 degrees.

what about this one by fieldsheer? Tell me what you think....It may not match my helmet that much, which i would like it to, but it does have the removable CE armor which is in the shoulders, elbows, and back. That is one thing better than the Joe Rockets jackets listed above, besides the price.
