View Full Version : People, get your suspensions setup!

I know it sounds like common sense to have your suspension setup for you, but not everyone has it done. Even though I had it done on my last bike I didn't remember how much of a difference it makes. My new bike has been very frustrating because I have not been comfortable on it in the corners and I subsequently turned much slower lap times at MSRH than on my old bike. But I took my new R6 to Patrick's shop yesterday and Brandon setup my suspension and HOLY Sh!T what a difference. Now I absolutely love my bike's handling. It feels like the front and back are working with each other instead of independently; it doesn't run wide in turns anymore; it holds any line I put it on without "bouncing" thru the turn. Amazing. It' the best $25 I've spent on anything on any bike. If you're on the fence about getting this done, DO IT!

Thanks Patricks :icon_thum
P.S. Don't let Patrick give you directions from his shop to College Station, however. Takes ffffooorrrreeeevvveerrrr. :laughing6:laughing6

Yeah they adjust it by evaluating the settings with you on the bike in your normal riding position.

Yep, If you are not having your suspension adjusted then you are probably wasting time on your bike.

I wish I had time on Friday to get it up there. You guys open late on the 24th by any chance? :D I will be heading up there for the trackday at MSRH on the 25th.

Leaving here around 2(Maaaybe can get out of work earlier) get to Kemah by 5, try on and pick up boots, then head up there. But I am pretty sure I wouldn't make it by 6:30 though and then if I did I'm sure it would probably take a little bit to get it setup. Damn, maybe it just wasn't meant to be. But you guys do seem to be the place to go for it.

Since I'm in here do you guys have Kobe Misano's in stock? I need a 48-50 based on my guesstimations

Damn edit time ran out.. If I can get out of work early I will give you a call on Friday to see what kinda line you got up there.

But deffinitely interested in Kobe suit prices. And whatever other suits you can recommended for the larger build guys :keke:

I made it up there this morning and called first to Patrick and asked if he could get me in for a setup on my 07 ZX-6R. He said bring it on, BEST MONEY I HAVE SPENT ON THE BIKE so far, I only have 4005 miles on it but driving home, 25 miles 110% improvement on the ride! And cheap money wise, I was 40-60 LBS under weight and Now big difference. Great people and first class service.

First Time There and Will Be Back......

Cheers,
PDRICH

you don't notice it on normal street riding (commuting) but on a spirited ride or trackday it's PRICELESS. best $25 ever spent. mine is dialed in perfect. Brandon kicks ass!

Patrick, I need to come back and maybe do a touch up on my suspension. I'd like to do it with all my track gear on this time (instead of my daily street riding gear). It may not need much adjustment, if any.

My first track day will be this saturday. Will it make sense for me to have my suspension set up on the 500? Will it make that much of a difference?

i couldn't believe how much of a difference a good suspension setup makes on a bike till my last motocross bike... you can run harder for longer and it doesn't feel like you ever have to "fight" the bike.. huuuge difference.. spend the money on suspension before engine mods IMO.

So you think it will make that big of a difference on my bone stock 2007 Ninja EX500?

Surely you have spent $25 some time in your life on something you felt afterwards was absolutely stupid.

I can personally guarantee that you won't feel that way after MU sets up your 500.
