I've been doing some preliminary research online, but wanted to vet my findings with an actual attorney.
My finance' & I are getting married in November in Jamaica and I wanted to know the process of changing her last name.
Here's the best link that I've found so far:
http://www.rocketlawyer.com/free-legal-help-How+to+Get+a+Legal+Name+Change+in+Texas+after+Gett ing+Married.aspx
Is this information accurate and complete?

Thanks in advance for any and all info/advice that you are able to provide.

no lawyer is needed. just show the marriage license to the SS office and drivers license and you are GTG

To tell you the truth I know the process to change a person's name after a divorce, but not for marriage (lawyers only get involved when things go wrong).

As far as govt agencies, the two you need to go to are the social security administration office and the DMV. Bring your marriage certificate to both. There are probably forms you will fill out.

You will probably also want to get the form to change her passport name. If the passport is new (less than a year I think), she can just do a name change form. If its older than that, she will have to renew it with her new name.
