I aint had no problems until a couple weeks ago it wouldn't open up when I got to work. after a few hours it would be up and running but kinda slow. I first thought it was this govt computer I work at but it turned out not to be. Them bastards pissed me off when they blocked myspace and a couple other sites I look at. I'm just waitin for the day they find out about this site and block it from me :crying: . I'll be one pissed off SOB. then I'll have no choice but to actually do some work.

Ive been having problems with RR...its like once a year the internet just starts to cut in and out during the mid of the day, and afternoon.
usually it happens during summer, but now its happening during "winter"

I use firefox, and have music playing in the background as well as AIM, so when it goes down, I know it affects all my tabbed websites, my music and AIM.

but maybe ifyou only have one opening to the internet (MH) open, it seems like its only MH.

RR is notorious for just random times they start going out. Ive had 2 accounts so far today, and I turned on the comp at 11.

I'm not on RR and I have noticed it, too. I have noticed abnormal latency on MH, at times, while other forums/site seem fine.

motohouston should be hosted in a real enterprise grade carrier neutral datacenter and not some guys garage :p

i can put the motohouston server in a datacenter here in houston. one of the best datacenters in town. 99.9999% uptime, i can arrange 100% uptime on bandwidth but thats a bit more involved

It's a series of tubes, and if you don't understand those tubes can be filled and if they are filled, when you put your message in, it gets in line and it's going to be delayed by anyone that puts into that tube enormous amounts of material, enormous amounts of material.

i can arrange free, but seeings the site takes in revenue, im afraid giving away power and bandwith isnt in my intrest. however! i can cut a big discount seeings this isnt a big money maker per say :icon_smil

If the sponsors have any problems, they know they can contact me at anytime and we can work things out. So far, They have ALL been VERY pleased with their investments.

If you arent happy, maybe you should go and build your own site. It seems like you have nothing but bad things to say about the server I use. Houston-imports has ALOT more traffic and they use(or used) EV1 and they have had LONG down times from time to time..... And I dont think its just MY server, I think it has a bit to do with RR...... I know people with DSL services and they have had 0 problems whatsoever.

Oh man.... EV1 sucks the big one big time. My site is hosted there... not that I use it as much as I used to. It's mainly online storage and email for me, now. It goes down alll.......the......time! It would be completely unacceptable as a forum host.

i can assure you that the problems are not server related...

we are monitoring the connectivity issues as they're brought to our attention though...

also keep in mind that continued growth will undoubtedly have a positive effect on the scales of economy i.e., colocation and other options will be explored at that point...

at this point again however - connectivity issues do not appear to be directly related to the current hosting company...

(btw - i'm on road runner chris - and have never had any connection probs)

Max

im sure its not server related, im thinking its network issues some where...
anyway, when the plans to expand to bigger and better, keep me in mind. im willing to cut you guys a sweeeeeeet deal :)

thanks man... i'm thinking it's an isp dns issue... but dunno... haven't caught it in the act...

i DO know that when probs occured on rr (about two years ago) - i could get to mh instantly by switching to public/anonymous proxy... or just using other dns's that i know of from other isp's... :keke:

in '07 just for grins... i'm gonna setup my own dns (if i have time)

a buddy of mine has been running his for a while... looks interesting... meh... :icon_bigg

im thinking it is dns related. when i lose conectivity i notice ns1 and ns2.nlservices.com are unreachable. i cant recall if its the dns server thats not responding or if im not making it all the way there..
i dont use road runner at the offfice, we have a dedicated twc t1 to the colo and a at&t t1 for what ever inet use. when i lose conectivity to motohouston i have tried routing my traffic via the twc t1 to the colo in and out level3, cogent, and verios network and end up at the same spot.
maybe sombody overthere likes to restart the dns servers often or somthing?

traffic actually routes up to jersey/ny (via savvis.net) and THEN it bounces back down here to lamarque...

lots of room for probs to occur along those routes - i think...

lmk what you spot next time it happens pls... thx... :icon_thum

if it was a routing issue between the big dogs, we wouldnt be the only ones feeling it. not to mention, those guys know their game. normaly when routing issues occor, they know about it before the end user does. they have some big sla's to mind

my bad - allow me to clarify...

the link between:

http://i11.tinypic.com/4hk819u.jpg

the link seems a little hokey there (gut)... and seems just a bit short on the hop count going from NY to La Marque - no?... may be a special data circuit there... dunno... but it's all on their ip segment for sure...

next time it happens... go here:

http://ipsla.savvis.net/trace.jsp

and lmk who's talking pls...

Hey listen, I have a problem with Motohouston, but it's not on opening up, it's on closing.

This is the ONLY website that I go to, that freezes my computer on a 100% basis when I click the X to close it.

If I go to google, or anywhere else THEN close the screen, I'm fine, but if I close the actual mh screen out, my computer locks up.

What could that be?
