lately the kat has been idling high at stop lights, when its cool and i pull up to a light the idle stays around 2k then drops to 1100rpm but when its riding temp it wont drop to 1100rpm its just stays at 2000k rpm, are the floats adjusted wrong (ive never touched them in the 5k mile ive had the bike), i just replaced the valve cover gasket as it was leaking oil and was cooked from the headers, i also did a valve adjustment per the manual, found out 4 exhaust and 4 intake valves clearances were out of tolerance, this made a sig increase in accelleration with power thru out the gear ranges, also did a cam chain tensioner spring replace, old one was 1/2 shorter than new one, im now at the carb sync point (waiting for tool in mail) and i want to fix this idle prob anyone have any how-tos on this prob, im also looking at other sites i just wanted to ask here just in case :icon_bigg

thx for any help

fyi - i know how to adjust the idle thats not the prob and its not the throttle cable too tight

Sounds like either you've got a vacuum leak or your pilot jets are clogged. Either way it's because you're running lean on the low end circuit.

i think i've ruled out vacuum leaks, but theres a broken carb sync fitting on the top of carb #3, it was covered with some rtv i think, so i ordered that, other than that, i'm gonna have to clean the carbs :confused2
