Interesting day today.

2 ambulance rides. One in turn 1, not entirely sure what happened, the other in turn 11...heard he high-sided.

Then, one (at least) 30 minute delay to clean up a couple wrecks in 3 & 4. Guy was spilling coolant all over the place and didnt know it. Guy in turn 3 found his coolant. He found his own coolant on his rear tire in turn 4.

Thought it was cleaned up, had a level 3 rider go down again in turn 3 when they opened it up and I noticed a couple of guys getting loose at the turn in point to 4. When the track was clear for the 2nd wreck in turn 3, I went over to inspect and sure enough, there was a huge area affected by coolant, 15 yards or so before the guy in turn 4 went down. So it took another ~1.5 hours to get that cleaned up.

Had an instructor go down (blue kawasaki) in turn 4 after he hit the yellow edging (not sure the technical name) at the inside of the corner. He rode off and I'm fairly certain he was back on the track later in the day.

I think there were a couple more wrecks, but I dont remember. Definitely quite a few run-offs.

Anyway, here's the pics. They were taken with a point and shoot camera. Some are a little blurry, none are perfect. But if anyone wants the full resolution of any of the pictures, send me a PM with your email and I'll get them to you.

That is a lot of pictures to be taking when you are supposed to be working. Maybe I take corner work a little to serious?

Though the pictures turned out pretty good.

I was impressed with this guy in level 2, old school bike! He was doing really well, especially towards the end of the day:

This guy was hauling ass all day too, level 3:

This guy had my vote for smoothest rider in level 2, he lost by one vote:

I THINK this is the guy that won smoothest rider, level 2...not sure:

Everytime I took a pic of the level 3 rider that got smoothest rider...it came out blurry...irony?

Not exactly sure who got level 1...it was a girl with a black kawi, pink tape...but there were 2 out there:

You stand there and watch riders make sure they're not doing anything stupid (inside passing in lvl 1/2, outside passing during the early sessions), riding wheelies, and watching for wrecks. Theyre isnt that much to it. If something happened or I needed to flag, camera got put down. I also have a camera with a large LCD screen, so I'm not looking into a tiny peep hole the whole time either...which I would say is probably too distracting and you don't have the view you should have.

If anything, it helps me stay focused on the riders in 90* heat in the sun by myself for 10 hours...as i usually have the attention span of a gold fish.

EDIT: On 2nd thought, I think the first picture is the smoothest rider, level 3...

Is it wrong that I feel upset that someone is sporting my CMRA number?

I took pictures when I corner worked too. Takes 2 seconds to drop the cam and wave the flag, no biggie and your watching the track just like you're supposed to.

Nice pics, thanks for sharing. Doesn't look I made the cut though haha

I took a lot less pictures in level 1 and 2. They require a little more attention than the level 3...as level 3 is basically anything goes within reason. Plus...us level 1/2'ers dont make for very good pictures...haha

And if there were big groups, I usually did the first or last rider.

Thats also why there's no pictures of the downed bikes at my corner...as soon as something happened, i was on the radio and waving flags.
