I been tryin my a$$ off to carry a long whoolie and it just aint happenin. I might get 100ft of blissful lifted action and then right back down.

So here is my question: My bike is not stunted, its got a 520 conversion but thats it....So when clutchin a 2nd gear whoolie, do you guys just get your throttle control perfect so that you pretty much jump right into BP, or do you guys throw it a little past BP and use the brake to bring it back in.

I can get the wheel in the air no prob, but I either get too high and let too much throttle off to keep it up, or just barely dont make it high enough and pretty much do an "acceleration wheelie" through 2nd gear. I wanna do long wheelies so bad, but I need help, so any and all info would be fantastic.

dont trash that purrty bike and isn't this bike your only mode of transportation? If so even more reason not to try anymore wheelies.

Awww.....damn you Los...lol. I'd be stupid to argue with that. :( My wife has a nice car but it'd be a bitch to try and share it.

*sigh* No more whoolies cuz Los has a bigger brain than me.

Anyone wanna tell me anyways so when I do have another vehicle I can try again? I promise not to be an ass and whoolie my only ride.

it's about brake controll..clutch it up to bp or under bp...keep your throttle the same and it's off and on the rear brake...when i did freeway shit i'd clutch it up right behind bp everytime and catch it with my rear brake, then from there it was back and forth off and on the brake...keep your throttle the same

eff clutchin it just bounce that bitch... put it in 2nd gear get the rpms a lil high where you feel the power come on a lil.... were its real jumpy then bounce the front end down and when its on its way up give it some gas... its going to come up quick... but you cant be scared to pull it back to balance point.. thats why your not stayin up cause your not at bp...... you should also be able to do the same in 3rd gear....

u have to be going to fast to bounce it.. :eh:

get it around 45 mph.. in 2nd.. or where ur powerband starts in 2nd gear..

clutch it up right under bp.. lean back roll it up using the throttle lightly to bp and apply rear to keep it stable..

some people allways hold the rear brake and use that as a means of control.. but thosee guys are the techy ones that do the circles and bullshit.. its scary when u get tooo high.. and let off the gas and the front end doesnt come back down... so ALWAYS cover the REAR.. ALWAYSS

go ahead racerx have at it :hello:

WRONG WRONG WRONG!, i bounce/clutch my bike up from a dead stop....covering the rear brake is a must, think of this as a emergency brake...learn to clutch it up to balance point(balance points feels like this, the bike gets real light and wants to go side to side) after you learn to clutch it up to balance point, stay on the throttle(dont chop it) and cover the rear brake at all times, you can play with your rear tire pressure (usually around 22psi in the rear for streets)for more stability...it's all about repetition, now go practice

You said a 520 conversion but what changes did you make to the gearing? If it is still stock gearing you are not going to bounce crap up on an R6 and will have to pop the clutch around 7 or so and throttle the rest. If the gearing changed then just give it some gas and pull.

I'd work it up slowly.. looks liek your not anywhere near your BP. So just give it a little more gas each time when popin the clutch. I'd say bounce that shit if you're on the street. And no, you don't have to go that fast, just have to be near your powerband.

that R6 will bounce it up all day long, you just gotta be smoooth. clutchin is easier

i bounce and clutch mine up and i ease on the brake just past balence point then i leave it there and i dont go on and off with the brake cuz it fast speed doesnt take much brake at all to bring it down i just leave slight preasure on the brake and rest is pretty much wrist control but when i was still learning id ease alittle more on the braake to bring it to balence point from there id ease just slightly up so then it holds it but you can do the same with the gas just it lags comen down just a slight bit.

just get use to the clutch the reason i bounce and clutch is so when im holding a fast wheelie im at low rpm so not only do i have alot of rpm to play with in case i find it hard to keep it up but less strain on the motor in my opinion.
