I put a 98 750 750 motor in a different frame. So its a project i'm working on.

will a carb'd motor run with out a airbox? If I remember correctly, there is a pressor sensor on the box??? (it's been MANY years since I've had a gsxr) If so is that necessary to have connected?
what I'm hoping is that the computer is NOT reading pressure and is not telling the carb to pull up the gas some how.
here is my situation.
1 If I have the float bowls filled up the bike will not start when I try to.
2 If i'm turning over the bike and put my had over the carbs, it THEN sucks gas into the carb and the motor will start. it doesn't run that well.
3 If I put a rag over the carbs to create a little more suction(restriction) on the carbs, it runs better.
with the bike acting like this, i'm HOPING it's because I do not have a air box on to cause enough restriction to suck gas into the carbs.

any suggestions would be great.
thanks a million,
albert

yes carbs will run withouy a airbox. I would however get the k and n pod filters to go over them or get the oval ones that fit on two of them then another to fit on the other two.

Albert,
The '98 GSXR carbs will work without an airbox, just not very well. Another thing to check is whether the carbs are clean and if all of the lines are hooked up properly.

Thanks Patrick,
I was also told that the gas was run out of the carbs the last time they had it running. I was going from what they said. I just didn't really want to have to clean carbs out.
thanks for your replies guys....
