Hi Fresnel,

A friend of mine got a ticket in another state that he visited. If he doesn't pay, what are the consequences (if he doesn't go back there again)?

It is kind of a puzzle which states are communicating with which states.

What is almost always true is that warrants or holds for outstanding traffic tickets will be reported to Texas DPS, which will prevent your friend from being able to renew his license. It won't invalidate his current license though.

States that are part of the Driver License Compact or Non-Resident Violator Compact will share violation data with one another. So a traffic offense in one state could end up as points on the home state's license. A hold in another state could also suspend the license in the Home state if the suspension standards are similar between the two states. It gets a little tricky in that every state applies different offenses to these agreements.
