Has anyone had a vasectomy done recently?

I know its way off topic, but my friends wife wants him to get it done cause they have all the kids they want. But he is nervous about the procedure and had some questions.
What is the down time?
How long will he not be able to ride after the procedure?
Can it decrease sex drive?
I know the sperm cells make the semen white, so after the procedure is done will the semen always come out clear? I know it sounds weird but they are valid concerns.

My best friend had one after his twins were born. He was back at work in 2 or days and claims that his sex drive is as healthy as it could ever be after 3 kids.

Out pt procedure. Down a day, no heavy lifting for a week or two. Sperm will remain in system for at least 6 weeks post surgery, so protection is still important for a bit. Testosterone dictates sex drive so no issues there. Basically he will still ejaculate but will be shooting blanks.

When the doctor says not to do any strenuous activity for a few days, listen to him!
Everybody I know that had problems returned to normal activity too soon.
Give it a few days, even though you feel fine. Those little tubes can start leaking and the whole area can turn black and blue and hurt like a mofo if you don't.

There are some cases were a dull to mild ache can be present on a routine basis. I had mine done 7 years ago and have had this problem myself. It's not constant but it does occur. As far as being reversed the chances reduce as time goes on. The procedure itself was easy and I'd gladly do it again.
