I tie mine down by the handle bars. You want to make sure you have it somewhere above the suspension. whatever you do...DO NOT tie it down by the wheels or the swingarm.

several friends have had throttle tubes screwed as well as damaged controls by using a 'canyon dancer' type thingamabob...
big, if you don't have soft ties - either buy some, or use a cycle cynch... they work waaaaaay differently (and better) than canyon dancers...
keep in mind that i typically trailer one of my bikes at least twice a month... believe me when i tell you that you should avoid canyon dancers...
fz1 controls aren't cheap... :angry7:
patrick @ m-u, sells cycle cynches btw... support your local shops!...

thanks, this is what i was looking for
Do not tie-down your motorcycle by the handlebars. A number of handlebars on various manufactures are rubber mounted. Tying down the bike by the handlebars can result in the bars being pulled down and the tie-downs loosened. Regardless of the type of motorcycle you ride the handlebars are not designed to accept the stresses that are generated in towing down rough roads or hitting potholes.
